The container includes a circular base which includes a baseplate with a transverse flange around its outer periphery. A spindle which is configured for accommodating a plurality of discs is removably attached to the base. A lid which has a generally circular top and a skirt depending therefrom and which includes engagement flanges is removably mounted onto the base by means of engagement between the flanges on the lid and the baseplate flange.
