    Abstract: A screw-type gas compressor has a pair of meshing rotors each formed with a plurality of helical ribs. The flanks of the ribs of one of these rotors are generally convex and at least partially formed as involutes. The flanks of the ribs of the other rotor are generally concave and at least partially formed as involutes. These shapes are formed by the rack-generating process or by hobbing.
