The compounds in which n is 0 are the starting products or intermediate products in making the compound in which a sulfonyl or sulfinyl group is present (n=1 or 2) but have also nematocidal properties of their own. All compounds of the invention avoid the undesirable environmental properties and other shortcomings of the prior art products, particularly those of the broadly used mercury compounds.
