    Abstract: A diagnostic composition comprising a base material and a light colored coating material thereon, wherein the base material has a dark color on its coated side, and the coating material is a finely dispersed microporous plastic applied in a thickness sufficient for the complete masking of the color of the base material, is outstandingly effective in detecting fat or fat-like substances on surfaces by merely contacting the composition with the surface.
