  • Patent number: 4644833
Abstract: A workpiece supporting table for panel saws which ensures that during the splitting-up and formatting of workpieces, chip-type sawing residues penetrating between the table and a workpiece placed on it cannot scratch a sensitive workpiece surface resting on the table when the workpiece is moved into a new cutting position, is described. To this end, the workpiece supporting table is in the form of a grooved table whose ridge-type elevations each comprise at least one air outlet channel which exits at their upper horizontal surface and is connected to a compressed air source. Chips penetrating between the workpiece and the ridge-type elevations during the sawing are carried along and pulled down from their upper surface by the air flow issuing from the elevations, once the workpiece is released for adjustment into a new cutting position on the workpiece supporting table.

  • Patent number: 4431358
Abstract: Apparatus for breaking up stacks of boards in a power saw has a platform which carries a stack of boards and is movable upwardly by a motor which is automatically arrested in response to lifting of a preselected number of boards above a given level. The unit which effects the transfer of boards above such level onto a table which supports the boards during cutting carries a pivotable lever with an idler roller which rests on the topmost board during lifting of the platform, and the lever causes a switch or a signal comparing stage to arrest the motor for the platform when it assumes a preselected angular position. When the idler roller is moved off the topmost panel in response to transfer of the selected number of boards onto the table and resulting movement of the transfer unit relative to the platform, the lever assumes a given position in which it arrests the motor for the transfer unit.

  • Patent number: 4364291
Abstract: In a reciprocable circular saw, coplanar mounting of the machine carrier surfaces which constitute the table surface is achieved in that the legs of the frame have horizontal upper portions whose undersides constitute flat horizontal surfaces. The machine carriers are secured to the legs so that the surfaces which constitute a table surface abut against the first surfaces of the legs.

  • Patent number: 4362108
Abstract: A conveyor system is composed of a trolley and an elongated inverted U-shaped or C-shaped track which is formed without any machining involving removal of material by simple deformation of a sheet-metal blank. The track has a horizontal or vertical web, two vertical or horizontal legs extending from the marginal portions of the web, and two horizontal or vertical ledges which constitute the inwardly bent end portions of the legs. One of the ledges has a V-shaped cross-sectional outline and the other ledge has an inturned carrier for a toothed rack in mesh with a pinion driven by a motor on the trolley. The trolley has a first pair of rollers whose conical peripheral surfaces engage the opposite sides of the V-shaped ledge, and a second pair of rollers whose cylindrical peripheral surfaces engage the opposite sides of the other ledge. One roller of each pair is adjustable to ensure that both rollers of each pair engage the corresponding ledge with negligible clearance.

  • Patent number: 4348924
Abstract: A laminated plate-like workpiece of the type wherein the outer layers extend laterally beyond the edge faces of a median layer is trimmed in an apparatus wherein a reciprocable carriage supports several elongated abutment members which can enter between the outer layers of a workpiece to move into contact with an edge face of the concealed median layer. The workpiece is thereupon coupled to the carriage by several pairs of jaws and the carriage is moved to one or more preselected positions in each of which a different portion of the workpiece is located in the cutting plane of a rotary circular saw.
