  • Publication number: 20210196954
Abstract: A method for deriving information for setting a fitting parameter of a cochlear implant, wherein the cochlear implant includes an electrode array having a plurality of stimulating electrode contacts. The method includes modelling an interface between an electrode contact of the electrode array and a cochlear tissue as a corresponding electrical circuit comprising a resistive component representative of Faradaic resistance at the interface; determining at least an impedance value corresponding to the resistive component; obtaining an indication of a value of a fitting parameter for the electrode contact by mapping the determined impedance value to a mathematical model relating the fitting parameter to the impedance.

  • Patent number: 9055377
Abstract: A personal communication device provides hearing support, and includes an input receiving an audio signal, a programmable processor, and an output outputting the processed signal. The programmable processor performs a filtering operation on a digital version of the audio signal in a first signal path based on parameter settings and provides control logic that determines the parameter settings based on information on user preferences, on audiological information and on information on the listening situation to provide hearing loss compensation. The programmable processor has a second signal path in parallel with the first signal path that receives the digital version of the audio signal and parameter settings and determining the filter coefficients of the filtering operation based on the parameter settings and the digital version of the audio signal.

  • Patent number: 6355064
Abstract: An auditive prosthesis, including a cochlear implantable electrode-set applied on a carrier. The electrode-set provides electrical currents for stimulating auditory nerves in the modiolus. The electrode-set having a first series of electrode-poles arranged beside each other and at a predetermined distance of each other along a first longitudinal side of the carrier. Each of the electrode-poles of the first set are individually connected with a signal-generator. The signal-generator is a second electrode-pole connected with a signal-generator. The second electrode-pole is arranged along a second longitudinal side of the carrier and extending over substantially the same distance as the first electrode-poles. The signal-generator is provided for generating signals between selected electrode-poles, electrical field-lines with radial and/or longitudinal components.
