  • Patent number: 5088381
Abstract: In a projectile-launcher actuated by induction, the guidance tubes are made of austenitic, stainless steel with high resistivity, transparent to the induction phenomenon. This makes it possible to obtain optimal mechanical strength while at the same time deriving the benefit of the advantages of actuation by induction between an inducation coil wound on each tube and an armature winding wound on the projectile. The disclosed device can be applied to all types of ground or airborne rocket-launchers.

  • Patent number: 4852828
Abstract: The device of the invention provides for the substantially constant unfolding of unfoldable fins on a guided missile without damaging the bearing structure or the fin itself. The device comprises a deformation part placed around a bearing neck that is joined to the fin. Means are used to convert the rotational kinetic energy due to the unfolding of the fin into translational energy. These means comprise, in particular, a compression ring which is displaced and compresses the deformation part in conjunction with the rotation of the bearing neck due to the unfolding of the fin. The invention can be used in missiles, self-propelled rockets and similar devices.

  • Patent number: 4408538
Abstract: Launching mechanism for fine stabilized subcalibre projectile fired from a gun barrel having a smooth or rifled bore. The mechanism comprises a sabot equipped with fork joints in which are articulated a set of jaws having means for articulation in rotation, bearing means in the gun barrel, means for holding the projectile constituted by bosses and spacers, locking means for the jaws and optionally aerodynamic means for unfolding the jaws. The invention is applicable more particularly to projectiles for piercing armour plating.

  • Patent number: 4075946
Abstract: The invention relates to improvements in armor-piercing projectiles formed in two component units, a first unit being a hollow envelope or shell, which is impact-resistant, and a second, being a ballast of a high specific weight, which is mounted in the hollow cavity of the envelope. The ballast improves the piercing performance of the projectile without detracting from impact resistance.
