  • Publication number: 20120204525
Abstract: The present application provides a turbine inlet air filter system for an incoming flow of air. The turbine inlet air filter system may include a gas turbine engine, a chimney, a weather hood positioned on the chimney, and a filter house. The incoming flow of air flows through the weather hood, the chimney, the filter house, and into the gas turbine engine.

  • Publication number: 20120132075
Abstract: A mist eliminator including a substrate and a plurality of frusto-conical shaped protrusions disposed on the substrate is provided. The plurality of frusto-conical shaped protrusions have a geometry and are positioned at intervals that provide coalescence and retention of water particles from moisture containing air contacting the substrate and frusto-conical shaped protrusions. A moisture removal system and a method for removing water particles from inlet air with the mist eliminator are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20120124961
Abstract: A filter cartridge assembly includes a first filter including a first cavity defined therein and a second filter coupled to the first filter. The second filter includes a second cavity defined therein in flow communication with first cavity. The filter cartridge assembly also includes at least one pre-filter extending about the first filter and the second filter such that a third cavity is defined between the at least one pre-filter and at least one of the first filter and the second filter.

  • Publication number: 20120068851
Abstract: A monitoring system for monitoring the integrity of a member disposed within a machine includes an image analyzer configured to receive image data from an imaging device and to determine an amount of radiation incident on one or more of one or more pixels of the imaging device. The monitoring system also includes a monitor coupled to the image analyzer and configured to generate an alarm in the event an amount of radiation on one or more of the one or more pixels exceeds a limit.

  • Publication number: 20120037005
Abstract: A system for fluid filtration and for providing an indication of filtration operation. The system uses a filtration media for permitting flow of fluid there through and for filtering at least one material from the fluid. The filtration media has an upstream side and a downstream side. The system includes a member located adjacent to the downstream side of the filtration media and permitting flow of the fluid there through. The member retains at least some of the at least one material not filtered from the fluid by the filtration media. The member is contrast to the at least one material so that an indication of locality of reduced filtration of the at least one material is provided.

  • Publication number: 20120000176
Abstract: An apparatus is provided and includes an inlet, including a peripheral wall formed to define a pathway along which gaseous, fluidic and particulate matter flow and two or more nets sequentially disposed in the pathway, the two or more nets being suspended on the peripheral wall with substantially no clearance between each of the two or more nets and the peripheral wall and held sufficiently loosely to permit relative movement of each of the two or more nets such that an effective pore size of the two or more nets is variable over time to encourage fluidic condensation at the two or more nets and to permit a relatively substantial portion of the gaseous and particulate matter to continue to flow.

  • Publication number: 20110315015
Abstract: A particulate filtration reverse pulse cleaning system is disclosed. The system comprising a housing, a tubesheet disposed within the housing, a filter for fluid communication with a tubesheet aperture, a support frame connectable with the tubesheet, and a cleaning system associated with the support frame. A filter cleaning system is also disclosed, the support frame comprising a plurality of hollow support legs comprising at least one cleaning aperture and a cleaning system associated with the plurality of hollow support legs. A method for cleaning a filter is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20110173986
Abstract: An adaptive vane separator system is provided for use with an inlet filter house of a gas turbine engine system. The vane separator system is coupled to the inlet filter house. The vane separator system includes a slide rail and a plurality of vanes rotatably coupled to the slide rail. The inlet filter house is configured to channel air to an air inlet of a turbine engine. A drive motor is coupled to the vane separator system. The drive motor is operable to selectively move at least one of the vanes to facilitate reducing an amount of moisture channeled through the air inlet.
