  • Patent number: 6337525
Abstract: The present invention relates to a bearing for an open-end spinning rotor. The latter is driven at its rotor shaft by means of a tangential belt in a predetermined direction and is supported in a nip which is formed by at least two bearing disks capable of being driven by the rotor shaft. A bearing disk (at least one) leads in relation to the drive direction of the tangential belt rotating into the nip, and another bearing disk (at least one) trails in relation to the drive direction of the tangential belt rotating out of the nip. The axis of the bearing disk (at least one) rotating into the nip is at a specified distance from the plane which goes through the rotor shafts of the spinning rotors of several adjoining open-end spinning devices. This distance is being smaller than the distance between the axis of the bearing disk (at least one) rotating out of the nip and the rotor shaft plane.

  • Patent number: 5209055
Abstract: In an open-end spinning device with a spinning rotor whose shaft bears axially upon the ball of a step bearing, said step bearing is designed for the attenuation of axial oscillations and shocks of the spinning rotor. The bearing includes an elongated housing provided with a ball supporting member and a resilient member.

  • Patent number: 4916891
Abstract: An open-end rotor spinning machine which operates at rotor speeds higher than 100,000 rpm is constructed so that the critical system rotational speed is higher than the 100,000 rpm operating rotational speed. The rotatable rotor has a shaft bearingly supported in the nip between at least two pairs of supporting disks. Each disk has a plastic outer covering around the circumferential surface thereof and preferably is provided with at least one recess along its circumference. An elastic support surface preferably covers the circumference of each disk and is disposed between the disk and its outer plastic covering. The interior distance between the disks is from 20 to 69 mm. A circumferential recess preferably is disposed in at least on of the lateral surfaces of the plastic covering of each supporting disk.

  • Patent number: 4773210
Abstract: The invention relates to an open-end rotor-spinning device with a rotor shaft which is mounted and driven in the wedge-shaped gap between supporting disks and to the free end of which is assigned an axial bearing. A simplified mounting, which also allows the supporting disks to be removed and exchanged while the machine is in operation, is provided because the rotor shaft (1) is mounted at two bearing points, of which one is formed by supporting disks (2, 3) arranged in the vicinity of the spinning rotor (10) and the second is a bearing (5) which absorbs axial and radial forces and which receives the free end (11) of the rotor shaft (1). An increase in the operating speed of the spinning rotor (10) without an increase in the running speed of the drive means (6) is achieved as a result of a reduction of the diameter of the rotor shaft (1) in the region of the drive means.

  • Patent number: 4501116
Abstract: In order to wind a newly joined thread onto a tube newly inserted on a spooling device on an open-end spinning mechanism, the newly joined thread, together with a thread portion containing a leader, is guided away before the start of the bobbin build-up. Thereupon, the thread portion containing the leader is severed from the thread, and subsequently, the thread supplied by the open-end spinning mechanism is transferred to the newly inserted tube. To exchange a full bobbin for a new tube, a thread break is produced, the open-end spinning mechanism is cleaned and the thread is thereupon joined anew. To carry out this process, there are, on an open-end spinning mechanism, provided with a thread-joining device and a spooling device, a thread-suction device (4), a thread feeder (42) transferring the thread (35) supplied to the thread-suction device (4) to a newly inserted tube, and a thread-severing device (41) assigned to the thread-suction device (4).

  • Patent number: 4402177
Abstract: An apparatus and method for stopping operation of an open-end spinning machine is disclosed whereby the rotor shaft 1 of the spinning rotor and the shafts 30, 40 of the support rollers 3, 4 are rapidly but gently stopped by applying a braking force to the shafts of the support rollers after the rotor shaft is braked. Preferably a single force is shared and applied in timed sequence for braking the rotor shaft and the support roller shafts. The apparatus for carrying out the method includes a pivotable lever 7 which is pivotable about an axis 70 and carries a support 73 having a brake lining which receives the rotor shaft 1. A belt lifting roller 72 is carried on the pivotable lever which lifts a tangential belt 5 off of the rotor shaft 1 to thus stop the drive of the spinning rotor. The support 73 is elastically carried on the lever 7 by means of a U-shaped spring 74.

  • Patent number: 4336683
Abstract: A mechanism for the production of wrapped yarn which consists of a bundle of spun fibers wrapped around a binding thread. A hollow spindle 5 is supported between a pair of delivery rolls 1, 2 and a pair of draw-off rolls 3, 4. A rotating binding thread bobbin 7 is arranged coaxially with the hollow spindle 5 and is enclosed by a housing 8. An air flow which can be generated in the housing and/or introduced into the housing causes the pressure within the housing to be built up so as to prevent fibers and the like from entering an exit hole carried in a cover 80 provided on the housing.
