  • Patent number: 7063167
Abstract: An implement has a tongue used to tow the implement that can be raised or lowered with respect to the rest of the implement. The tongue is raised or lowered by a hydraulic cylinder. The raising and lowering ports of the cylinder are connected to two hydraulic accumulators to permit the tongue to flex up or down while the implement is towed through the field. These accumulators are disconnected from the cylinder when the wings of the implement are lifted and the implement is towed over the road to prevent the implement from oscillating backwards and forward about an axis defined by its wheels.

  • Patent number: 6315058
Abstract: An improved soil-working implement. The implement comprises a shank having a free-end portion; a one-piece adapter defining a recess, wherein the adapter is removably affixed to the shank free-end portion; a one-piece shovel; and an elastomeric element frictionally removably retained within the recess of the adapter.

  • Patent number: 4712622
Abstract: A self-leveling agricultural implement is disclosed which has been particularly configured for maintaining the frame of the implement in a level disposition as it is raised and lowered by relative movement of its hydraulically-operated supporting wheels. The construction includes a pivotal draft hitch at a forward end of the implement frame, and a leveling linkage which operatively connects the draft hitch with a rockshaft of the implement which is operatively connected with its hydraulic actuators. Thus, as the actuators operate to relatively raise and lower the implement wheels, attendant rotation of the rockshaft acts to pivot the draft hitch relative to the frame, whereby the level disposition of the frame is maintained. The construction desirably includes an adjustable link which operatively connects the pivotal draft hitch with the leveling linkage, whereby the implement is readily adjustable for use with different tractors having differing drawbar heights.

  • Patent number: 4391335
Abstract: A wheel that has an alternating tooth structure for improved entry into the soil and movement therethrough for efficient soil lifting and flow, self cleaning and balanced operation. The wheel includes a central hub, four equally spaced spokes extending radially therefrom to a circular flange from which radially extending rearwardly curved, from the direction of travel, teeth extend to work the soil. A tooth of the teeth has a rearward surface that is tapered from one lateral surface to the other and rearwardly to move the soil to one side of the wheel and the adjacent tooth has a rearward surface that is similarly but, oppositely tapered but also rearwardly, to move the soil to the other side of the wheel with the teeth alternating in this sequence around the circumference of the flange.

  • Patent number: 4180135
Abstract: Hydraulic mechanism for varying the angular relationship between a pair of adjacent end-connected disc harrow gangs which uses the same power source that ordinarily is employed for raising and lowering the harrow frame structure as a power source to actuate the gang angling mechanism. A bell crank lever mechanism embodying a pivot shaft, trailing wheel axle arms, and a crank arm, has the latter arm connected to the power source so that when the crank arm is swung in opposite fore and aft directions, the frame structure is raised or lowered.

  • Patent number: 4127179
Abstract: A scraper mechanism for the disk gangs of disk harrows and embodying a series of flexible scraper arms, one for each disk, which depend from a common scraper support and carry scraper blades at their lower ends. The upper ends of the scraper arms are turned laterally and provide short attachment sections of wide angle concavo-convex configuration. A clamping bolt extends through the apex of each section and the support and, upon tightening thereof progressively flattens the section against the support and thus swings the depending portion of the scraper arm in the direction of the respective disk for regulating the pressure of the scraper blade against the disk. Means are provided for shifting the position of the common scraper support so that collective adjustment of the various scraper blades may be effected.
