  • Publication number: 20040060488
Abstract: Solid combustible waste materials are converted into highly efficient fuel by subjecting such materials to size reduction in suitable size-reducing equipment. The last piece of the equipment is a mill which pulverizes the waste materials into fine particles having a high surface to mass ratio and forming a highly efficient fuel when these particles are directly injected into a combustion reactor operating at high temperature.

  • Patent number: 4454775
Abstract: A pool testing device, utilizing a liquid container, includes an elongated handled and a mechanism for detachably and rotatably mounting a liquid container to the handle. A releasing mechanism is also provided so as to actuate the detachably and rotatably mounting mechanism so that the liquid container rotates from a first predetermined position to a second predetermined position when the releasing mechanism is actuated.

  • Patent number: 3974760
Abstract: In a pit-type slow cooking apparatus, smoldering fuel elements are held on a substantially balanced seesaw support near and above a heating element in the bottom of the pit or enclosure. Food is supported at elevations above the smoldering solid fuel. As the fuel is slowly consumed without open burning or flaming, seesaw movement of the fuel support affords alternate cooling and heat exposure periods for the solid fuel to promote slower and more controllable burning.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 12, 1975
Date of Patent: August 17, 1976
    Inventor: Clarence Eugene Ellis
  • Patent number: 3947061
Abstract: A bumper for motor vehicles which is operated by hydraulic slave cylinders connected to the master brake cylinder to extend the bumper upon the application of a predetermined amount of force to the brake to provide the bumper with a greater shock absorbing length of travel under collision conditions while permitting the retraction of the bumper to facilitate in-town maneuvering and parking under normal driving conditions.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 28, 1975
Date of Patent: March 30, 1976
