  • Patent number: 5232404
Abstract: A new and unique construction for a corn cob cutter knife is presented. A method is described for the manufacture of a unique cutting blade insert which is tapered and which has an inner ski angle compatible with the many applications involved in removing corn kernels from a corn cob in a mechanized operation. The unique removable cutting blade insert is designed so that the various angles of declination and attack optimize the sharpness and long lasting nature of the knife. A method is also presented to determine the off-set grinding radius for the ski angle of the knife.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 23, 1991
Date of Patent: August 3, 1993
    Assignee: Felste Company, Inc.

  • Patent number: 5041057
Abstract: A corn cutter unit in which an ear of corn is propelled by a plurality of feed rollers into a plurality of knives carried by a rotating head, with the knives being adjustable to define an opening through which the cob may pass, and a cob puller having upper and lower chains, each of which is formed of links and driven by sprockets over a guide, which guide has a height substantially equal to the length of the individual chain links to extend through said head and grip the corn cob.

  • Patent number: 4667369
Abstract: An extrusion nozzle for ground meat which has forwardly mounted perforation rods, aligned and retained within tubular housings, with each lateral rod having a slight bend so that it is generally parallel with the interior walls of the nozzle. The nozzle attaches to a conventional meat grinder which forces the semi-frozen ground meat into the nozzle and compacts and extrudes the shapeless meat into a densely packed, bricklike shape having multiple perforations without the requirement for external heating. This nozzle affords ease in cooking and enhanced flavor, is easily cleaned, requires minimum disassembly, and is structurally supported to withstand internal pressures.

  • Patent number: 4530264
Abstract: A cutter wheel is provided having a plurality of spokes thereon interfitting with successive apertures in a continuous strip of plastic material assembled with cans, such as beverage cans, and having spaced cutting blades thereon for severing the plastic strip at spaced intervals to produce discreet packages, i.e., "six packs". The wheel is driven by the strip and overlies the strip, lying in a plane parallel to the direction of motion of the strip and assembled can. Each spoke is offset from a radial position so that a spoke is upstream from a radial line perpendicular to the strip when such spoke reaches a vertical position perpendicular to the strip for the associated cutter to effect its cut.
