  • Patent number: 5152231
Abstract: A fire-resistant safe has a main body and a closure, both of which are formed from integral resin shells filled with insulation materials. When exposed to fire, a portion of the resin material burns away leaving gaps between the insulation materials of the main body and closure. However, formation of convection air currents in vertical sections of the gaps is resisted by reducing spacings between insulation materials of the main body and closure. The amount of heat energy carried by the convection air currents is similarly reduced, thereby avoiding significant concentrations of heat that can promote burning through the gaps.

  • Patent number: 5020761
Abstract: The hanging region (33) of a supporting web (31) of a hang tab (30) adhered to a supported object is cut and is bendable to form an opening divided between a central region that receives a single wire hanger (20) and end regions (38) that receive a double wire hanger (24). Uncut tension zones (40) between the central region and the end regions (38) are breakable to receive double wire hanger (24), but remain unbroken to help support the weight of an object hanging on single wire hanger (20).

  • Patent number: 4598498
Abstract: A nail-bearing sash stop 20 mounts on a jamb liner 10 having a parting bead 11 between a pair of sash runs 12 and 13. Retainer slots 15 in opposite sides of parting bead 11 adjacent sash runs 12 and 13 engage and hold a longitudinal side edge of stop 20 for retaining stop 20 on jamb liner 10 before assembly and for allowing sash stop 20 to move longitudinally of jamb liner 10 during assembly. A preferred embodiment of stop 20 has opposite side edges 41 that can be sprung together for a resilient fit between parting bead 11 and guide wall 14 in a sash run spaced from parting bead 11.
