Patent number: 11701214Abstract: A system for heart valve repair includes a packaging assembly for storing the replacement heart valve. The packaging assembly includes a valve support having a base for holding the replacement heart valve, a ring positioned within the valve support and configured to fit around a circumference of the replacement heart valve, and a retention mechanism. The retention mechanism includes a cap and plurality of sutures configured to be attached to the cap and to the replacement heart. The packaging assembly having a locked configuration in which the ring and the valve support are locked together and the sutures tension the replacement heart valve. The packaging assembly is designed to hold and transport a replacement heart valve and fits within a shipment jar.Type: GrantFiled: May 11, 2021Date of Patent: July 18, 2023Assignee: Cephea Valve Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Evelyn Haynes, Jonathan Oakden, Spencer Noe, Aaron Grogan, David Wang

Patent number: 11331187Abstract: A delivery device includes a central elongate structure, a sheath, a plurality of tethers extending through the central elongate structure configured to hold a cardiac valve, a cutting mechanism, a handle, and a control. The sheath is configured to slide over the central elongate structure. The cutting mechanism is configured to cut the tethers upon activation to release the cardiac valve. The handle is connected to the central elongate structure. The control on the handle is configured to activate the cutting mechanism.Type: GrantFiled: June 16, 2017Date of Patent: May 17, 2022Assignee: Cephea Valve Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Dan Wallace, Peter Gregg, Evelyn Haynes, Aaron Grogan, Crissly Crisostomo

Publication number: 20210205073Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for a replacement mitral valve. The replacement mitral valve may include a ventricular portion and a separate atrial portion tethered to the ventricular portion. When in the delivery sheath, the ventricular and atrial portions may be in a collapsed configuration. The ventricular portion and atrial portion may be axially offset within the delivery sheath thereby reducing the diameter of the replacement valve when in the collapsed configuration and the diameter necessary for the delivery sheath. Upon exiting the delivery sheath, the ventricular and atrial portions may expand. Once in the expanded configuration, the ventricular and atrial portions may be cinched together via an anchoring mechanism.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 6, 2021Publication date: July 8, 2021Applicant: Cephea Valve Technologies, Inc.Inventor: Evelyn Haynes
