Publication number: 20240132081Abstract: A system for dynamically adjusting interactions between an ADAS equipped vehicle and occupants of the vehicle includes one or more physiological sensors disposed on the vehicle and one or more control modules having a processor, a memory, and input/output (I/O) ports in communication with the one or more physiological sensors. The control modules execute program code portions stored in the memory that: collect sensor data from the one or more physiological sensors; analyze the sensor data and select a subset of the sensor data corresponding to a subset of the one or more physiological sensors; predicts, based on the subset of the sensor data, that an occupant of the vehicle is experiencing an increase in stress level; and adapt an ADAS action of the vehicle to reduce an occupant stress level from a first level to a second level lower than the first level.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 19, 2022Publication date: April 25, 2024Inventors: Mia Levy, Evelyn Kim, Rajan Bhattacharyya

Patent number: 11162803Abstract: A transportation management system coordinates the transportation of riders by drivers integrated with the system. To provide control to the rider of the route used during a trip provided by a given driver, the transportation management system computes several alternative routing options between the trip's origin location and destination location. These alternative routing options may be computed according to the rider's preferences and/or based on different optimization functions that optimize various trip parameters, for example, cost, time, traffic, and distance. The rider selects one of the alternative routing options as the preferred route between the origin location and the destination location. The transportation management system automatically communicates the routing option selected by the rider to the driver without requiring the rider to personally tell the driver of her preference.Type: GrantFiled: August 22, 2019Date of Patent: November 2, 2021Assignee: Uber Technologies, Inc.Inventors: John Christopher O'Hare, Maya Paritosh Choksi, Evelyn Kim

Patent number: 10760917Abstract: A transportation management system matches drivers with riders. After a rider has been picked up by a driver, a navigation route from the rider's pickup location to the driver's next stop is displayed to the driver on a mobile computing device. Prior to picking up the rider, only an initial portion of the navigation route is displayed to the driver. The amount of the initial portion displayed to the driver is dynamically determined according to its navigational complexity.Type: GrantFiled: February 27, 2018Date of Patent: September 1, 2020Assignee: Uber Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Christopher Moore, Evelyn Kim, Christine Misuye Tao, Nadeem Malik, Paweena Attayadmawittaya, Christopher Haugli, Jayant B. Patent number: 9367589Abstract: A system and method for providing destination recommendations to a user based on mining of a location history. The location history provides information on locations visited by users of the system over time. The system mines the location history to identify location pairs. Each location pair comprises an originating location visited by a user and a next location that was visited by the user within a defined time threshold of visiting the originating location. The system aggregates location pairs by common originating location. The system then takes into account the current location of a requesting user. The system uses the current location information to identify a corresponding originating location in a location history index. The system provides recommendations based at least in part on how frequently certain next locations were visited after visiting the originating location.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 2013Date of Patent: June 14, 2016Assignee: Google Inc.Inventors: Joanna Franciszka Swietlicka, Matthew Nicholas Stuttle, Sebastian Dörner, Alexandra Gherghina, Hassan Mansoor, Christian Brunschen, Richard Michael Farrell, Evelyn Kim, Samreen Dhillon, Federico Asara, Tyrone Nicholas
