Patent number: 8650803Abstract: A clip for removably securing the front lip of a gutter guard having holes therethrough to the underlying front lip of a gutter having a downwardly and forwardly extending end portion. The clip comprises an elongated body with a forwardly and upwardly extending first tab at a front end thereof and a rearwardly extending second tab at a rear end thereof. The first tab can be inserted through a first hole at the front of the gutter guard with the body in an upwardly extending first position so that the first tab is located adjacent to and beneath the end portion of the gutter. The body can then be rotated downwardly toward the gutter guard to a second position wherein the first tab is moved upwardly to engage the end portion of the gutter and the second tab is received within a second hole in the gutter guard.Type: GrantFiled: February 14, 2012Date of Patent: February 18, 2014Assignee: Leafsolution, LCCInventor: Evelyn M. Patent number: 8375644Abstract: A gutter guard constructed to be mounted on a gutter and to extend from the front to the rear thereof. The gutter guard comprises a central screen portion, a front mounting portion and a rear mounting portion. The central screen portion comprises a fine mesh top layer and a bottom support layer of expanded construction with openings of a desired size. The front mounting portion comprises a first metal sheet folded over and crimped to an adjacent front end of the screen portion. The rear mounting portion comprises a second metal sheet folded over and crimped to an adjacent rear end of the screen portion. The mesh top layer is hemmed to the bottom support layer and they are thereafter roll formed in a new and improved manner to prevent damage to the mesh top layer, to control its tension, and to provide close contact of the mesh top layer to the bottom support layer.Type: GrantFiled: August 8, 2011Date of Patent: February 19, 2013Assignee: Leafsolution, LLCInventor: Evelyn M. Patent number: 8250813Abstract: A gutter guard for mounting on a gutter. The gutter guard comprises an elongated panel extending laterally from an inner portion to an outer portion of an underlying gutter. The panel is of undulating construction and comprises a plurality of longitudinally extending, laterally spaced, elongated raised areas for retarding the flow of rain water across the panel. The raised areas are separated by longitudinally extending recess channels. The raised areas and recessed channels have a plurality of longitudinally extending, laterally spaced rows of longitudinally spaced first holes extending through the panel to enable rain water flowing outwardly across the panel to flow through the first holes into an underlying gutter. The first holes have a narrow end portion facing the inner side of the panel and expanding outwardly toward the outer side of the panel to facilitate spreading of rain water as it travels across the panel toward the outer side thereof.Type: GrantFiled: April 29, 2011Date of Patent: August 28, 2012Assignee: Leafsolution, LLCInventor: Evelyn M. Publication number: 20090320545Abstract: The gutter guard forming machine accepts relatively narrow, elongate sheets of imperforate materials and foraminous screen materials from a series of supply rollers and passes those sheets of material through a series of forming rollers and dies to crimp the sheets mechanically together along their common elongate edges to form the desired cross-sectional shape for the finished gutter guard. The raw sheet materials are fed into the machine in two overlying and two underlying streams, which are joined together and shaped by the forming rollers and dies. The process is continuous, with an automated cutoff saw cutting the completed gutter guard to practical lengths after formation. The mechanism is primarily electrically-powered, with a pneumatic-hydraulic cylinder being used for one of the operations. Various components are adjustable to allow the configuration of the completed gutter guard to be adjusted as desired.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 25, 2008Publication date: December 31, 2009Inventor: Evelyn M.
