  • Patent number: 4229333
Abstract: Sulfur containing organosilicon compounds having the formula:Z--Alk--S.sub.x --Alk--Zin which Z is: ##STR1## where R.sub.1 is alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl of 5 to 8 carbon atoms or phenyl and R.sub.2 is alkoxy of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, cycloalkoxy of 5 to 8 carbon atoms or phenoxy. Alk is a divalent aliphatic hydrocarbon or a cyclic hydrocarbon group containing 1 to 8 carbon atoms and x is a number from 2 to 6 are used as cross-linking agents in rubber mixtures containing conventional vulcanization accelerators and a siliceous filler, and optionally carbon black. No sulfur is present.
