  • Publication number: 20140297918
Abstract: Disclosed herein are a buffer cache apparatus, a journaling file system, and a journaling method capable of incorporating journaling features based on nonvolatile memory. The buffer cache apparatus provides a data buffering function between a central processing unit (CPU) and storage. The buffer cache apparatus includes a plurality of cache blocks and a journal management unit. The plurality of cache blocks are configured as volatile or nonvolatile memory devices. The journal management unit maintains states of freezing for write-protecting dirty up-to-date cache blocks among the plurality of cache blocks.

  • Publication number: 20130295060
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for culturing myocardium-resident cardiac progenitor cells, comprising: embedding myocardial fragments into hydrogel; culturing the myocardial fragment into hydrogel; degrading only the hydrogel to recover cardiac progenitor cells grown out of the myocardial fragment to the hydrogel; and amplifying the cardiac progenitor cells in vitro. Also, the cardiac progenitor cells, a method for differentiating the same, and the use thereof as cell therapeutic agent for heart diseases are provided. In addition to possessing the potential to differentiate into cardiomyocytes, osteoblasts, adipocytes, chondrocytes, vascular endothelial cells, smooth muscle cells, neural cells, and skeletal muscle cells, the myocardium-resident cardiac progenitor cells can spontaneously differentiate into cardiomyocytes even in the absence of a special differentiation inducing agent.

  • Publication number: 20130224257
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for preparing microsphere and microspheres produced thereby. The method comprises: mixing a water-insoluble organic solvent with a dispersion solvent; mixing a polymer compound, a drug and a water-insoluble organic solvent to prepare a dispersed phase; mixing the dispersed phase with the dispersion solvent mixed with the water-insoluble organic solvent to prepare an emulsion; and adding a base or an acid to the prepared emulsion. With the method, it is possible to prepare a drug-containing polymeric microsphere cost-effectively and conveniently.
