Abstract: An image capture system comprises a camera configured to capture an image of a whiteboard, or similar, viewed from an acute angle. A linear polarizer has a surface substantially perpendicular to a plane of the board and an axis of polarization substantially perpendicular to the plane of the board or within 30° of the perpendicular to the plane of the board. The camera is configured to capture the image of the board through the polarizer. A normal to the polarizer is directed in a different direction to a direction defined by an optic axis of the camera.

Abstract: A method of capturing writing or drawing on a whiteboard comprises inputting camera data for a succession of image frames of the whiteboard, and processing data from said image frames to remove parts of the image frames corresponding to parts of a user or user pen writing or drawing on the whiteboard. The processing involves filtering to distinguish between i) motion of the user/user pen parts in the image frames, and ii) writing/drawing image information in the image frames which appears or changes during said writing or drawing but which is thereafter substantially unchanging. The filtered data defines captured writing or drawing from the whiteboard.

Abstract: A method of monitoring a malignant tissue response to cancer treatment, including: acquiring, throughout a treatment course, one or more thermal images of the treated malignant tissue; processing the one or more thermal images to detect changes in the malignant tissue following the treatment; and analyzing the processed images to determine an effect of the treatment on the malignant tissue based on said detected changes.

Abstract: We describe a method of capturing writing or drawing on a whiteboard. The method comprises: inputting camera data for a succession of image frames, wherein the camera data is from a camera directed towards the whiteboard and the image frames comprise successive images of the whiteboard from the camera; and user filter processing data from said image frames to remove parts of said image frames corresponding to parts of a user or user pen writing or drawing on said whiteboard. The user-filter processing comprises filtering to distinguish between motion of the user/user pen parts in the image frames and writing/drawing image information in the image frames which appears or changes during said writing or drawing but which is thereafter substantially unchanging. The method outputs writing/drawing data from the user filter-processing, this defining captured writing or drawing from the whiteboard.

Abstract: A method to determine the volume of a box object from the captured image of the box object. The method includes identifying a geometric mark on the box object in the captured image to find the positions of two reference points of the geometric mark. The two reference points are separated by a predetermined distance. The method also includes processing a group of parameters and a predetermined mapping obtained from a calibration process. The group of parameters includes the positions of the two reference points and the predetermined distance separating the two reference points.

Abstract: A method to determine the volume of a box object from the captured image of the box object. Abstract: A system implements a camera to monitor a patient and medical devices. The camera's field of view is segmented into segments having images of the patient and the medical devices, and activities represented in the segmented images are designated for which to send a notification. Images captured by the camera are analyzed according to the field of view segmentation and the activity designation so it can be determined when the designated activities have occurred. A notification is executed when a designated activity has occurred. The system, which has a relatively low-cost and is easy to install, assists health care providers in monitoring a greater number of patients with minimal effect on the patients' privacy.

Abstract: Theft prevention device for enabling to lock the handlebar grip and the brake-lever of a two-wheeled vehicle, where the brake-lever is movably connected to the handlebar, to prevent stealing of the vehicle. The device may comprise a housing comprising at least two openings; a handlebar cuff that enables slidably attaching to the housing through the openings and cuffing of the handlebar grip therein; a brake-lever cuff that enables slidably attaching to the housing through the openings and, cuffing of the brake-lever therein; and a lock assembly that is operatively associated with the cuffs. The lock assembly enables locking the cuffs in a position where the cuffs cuff the handlebar grip and the brake-lever. To install the theft prevention device the cuffs should be approximate to one another, and then the user may lock the cuffs in the approximated cuffing position, using the lock assembly.

Abstract: A bulletin type messaging system for sending messages from a publisher to a multiplicity of interconnected target users. The bulletin messaging system includes a bulletin messaging server, having a processor and database. The database may include a publishers' database and a users' database. The bulletin messaging system further includes a computerized device of a publisher and a computerized device of a user. The bulletin messaging server is in communication flow with the publisher's computerized device and with the user's computerized device. A target user is enlisted to receive messages from one or more particular publishers through the bulletin messaging server. The target user receives a message from a publisher, in real time, upon the posting of a new message by the publisher in the preconfigured location in the database location in the database, wherein the processor sends the posted message.
