  • Patent number: 5503047
Abstract: A mechanized corkscrew powered by a cordless electric screwdriver, that mimics a winged manual corkscrew, wherein the mechanized corkscrew has a bell shaped flange on a sliding element that retracts up a twin threaded shaft as the corkscrew is twisted into the cork, and then, once the corkscrew is embedded in the cork, the sliding element traverses back down the twin threaded shaft, the resulting action causing the corkscrew to pull the cork out of the bottle.

  • Patent number: 5281288
Abstract: A double sided tape comprised of a carrier which is coated with a first pressure sensitive adhesive which is a water swellable adhesive that contains a lubricity component that temporarily, so long as water is present, imparts a high degree of slip to the nominally tacky surface of the adhesive when the adhesive is wetted with water, wherein the lubricity component is a high molecular weight polyoxyethylene resin, and where said carrier is coated on its opposing side with a second pressure sensitive adhesive, which is substantially a rubber based adhesive having good shear properties, wherein the double sided tape is wound in roll form with an interleaving double sided release liner which is laminated to the first pressure sensitive adhesive.

  • Patent number: 5070641
Abstract: A flexible, continuous web of a protective foldable tape with borders of pressure sensitive adhesive on each of its longitudinal edges for automated securing of the tape to a pre-installed mulch system. The tape is wound about a core forming a cylindrical roll. In application, the protective tape is adhered to the mulch bed as it unwinds from a spindle centered above the bed by pressing the adhesive zones against the mulch covering the bed. The spindle is mounted on farm equipment capable of tracking the bed path. The equipment can be self-propelled or pulled by a tractor. Prior to dispensing the tape, the bed can be fitted with support devices such as hoops, stakes or wire.

  • Patent number: 4667370
Abstract: A process for butchering poultry and other fowl wherein salt-water is used in full or partial substitution for fresh-water, said substitution being enabled by using the disclosed method of water treatment at each of the process stations, said treatment encompassing the appropriate addition of surface active agents, antimicrobial agents, sequestrates, antiscaling compounds and carefully controlling the water temperature, said substitution being further enabled through the use of additional wash stations and the use of injected salt solutions, and in which the salt-water process produces a fully dressed product having a lowered level of bacteria as opposed to the conventional fresh-water process.

  • Patent number: 4539248
Abstract: A reinforced filament tape for securing and releasing meeting edges of a container or articles within a container, comprises a flexible backing ribbon with a pressure sensitive adhesive on one side. On the other side of the backing ribbon is a binding layer overlayed by a plurality of reinforcing filaments and a releasing layer. The filaments are contacted with a filament coating and remain securely positioned in the binding layer.
