The front end surface has a first contact surface and a second contact surface that contact the commutator earlier than other regions of the front end surface, and are respectively positioned on diametrically opposed corners of the front end surface. In an initial state, the width of the contact area between the brush and the commutator is increased to extend the commutation time.

The lock holder encircles the driving member and the driven member. The lock holder has a support base and ribs extending from the support base. A lock element is coupled to the axial end portion of each rib. The lock elements are radially positioned between a radially outer surface of the driven member and the inner wall of the stationary member. The distance between the radially outer surface and the inner wall gradually decreases from a center to opposite circumferential sides. The maximum distance between the radially outer surface and the inner wall is greater than the diameter of the lock element, and the minimum distance is less than the diameter of the lock element.

The end cap has an opening formed by a ring-shaped collar, the collar being at least partly disposed inside the motor housing. A plurality of projections on an outer circumferential surface of the collar are received in a plurality of receiving cutouts in the motor housing. Two fingers formed at the opening of each receiving cutout are deformed to lock the received projection inside the respective receiving cutout. At least three of the projections being pressed against the axially inner end of the respective receiving cutout.
