    Abstract: A method comprises: determining, at a web browser, to replace a URL in received webpage code of a first website based at least on an address in an address portion of the URL being to a predetermined tracking domain. The URL includes identification information enabling identification of an address of a second website. The method also comprises: generating a unique tracking value for the URL; replacing the URL in the webpage code with a replacement URL addressed to the second website and including the tracking value in a parameter portion of the replacement URL. The URL is such that a user selection event on a link associated with the replacement URL causes sending of a request including the tracking value to the second website. The second website is configured to extract the tracking value from the request and to provide the tracking value to an attribution system.
