  • Publication number: 20230029313
Abstract: In a wheel hub unit a sealing assembly inserted between a stationary outer ring and a rotating inner ring of a rolling bearing includes a first screen coupled with the outer ring, an elastomeric annular element attached to the first screen, and a second screen faces the first screen and coupled with the inner ring, the second screen having a flange portion with a radially outer edge facing a sleeve portion of the first screen, the first screen having a non-contacting annular lip with a free end substantially flush in a radial direction with the radially outer annular edge, the free end cooperating with the radially outer edge to form a labyrinth seal.

  • Patent number: 11420467
Abstract: A sealing device for wheel hubs connected to constant-velocity joints including a first sealing assembly arranged between inner and outer rings of the wheel hub, and a second sealing assembly mounted on the inner ring and straddling the wheel hub and an outer ring of the constant-velocity joint. The first sealing assembly has a signal generating element having an annular insert mounted externally on a shield facing the constant-velocity joint and extending axially projecting above part of an annular step formed, on the same side as the constant-velocity joint, on a radially outer side surface of the inner ring, in a position immediately adjacent to the sleeve portion of the first shield. The second sealing assembly includes a tubular support keyed onto the inner ring by its first end on the outside edge folded in the manner of an L and shaped to engage inside the annular insert.

  • Publication number: 20210040992
Abstract: A sealing device for a bearing unit is provided. The sealing device includes a dynamic component, a static component having a shaped metallic support, and a plurality of sealing lips not making contact with the dynamic component and two lips making contact with the dynamic component. A second sealing lip of the non-contacting sealing lips and the dynamic component define a labyrinth seal, and a fixed spoiler arranged along the labyrinth seal for the creation of turbulent motion inside the labyrinth seal to provide a complete sealing action preventing any entry of components inside the bearing unit.

  • Patent number: 9488278
Abstract: A static sealing device for a wheel hub comprising an inner ring associated with an outer ring of a constant velocity joint coupled with the wheel hub. A first sealing assembly is integrated between the inner ring and an outer ring of the wheel hub to protect respective rolling bodies. A second sealing assembly is integrated between the wheel hub and the outer ring of the joint. The first sealing assembly includes a shield fitted to the inner ring with a sleeve portion thereof and a flange portion extending towards the joint carrying an annular signal generating element and a tubular support element which projects axially from the flange portion. The second sealing assembly includes a tubular core having opposite ends embedded in an elastomeric material forming a sealing lip towards the joint and an elastically deformable annular tooth for engaging with a complimentary feature of the tubular support element.

  • Publication number: 20130001885
Abstract: A static sealing device for a wheel hub assembly, an inner ring of which is operatively associated with a constant velocity joint, an outer ring coupled with the wheel hub, including a first sealing assembly arranged between the inner ring and an outer ring of the wheel hub for protecting respective rolling bodies, and a second sealing assembly supported by the inner ring, arranged straddling the wheel hub and the outer ring; wherein the first sealing assembly includes a shield anchored to the inner ring of the bearing and provided, on a first side of the joint, with a flange portion carrying an annular signal generating element towards the joint which leaves an annular radially inner area of the flange portion uncovered, defining an annular seat between it and the inner ring in which an edge radially folded on the outside of a tubular core of the second sealing assembly.
