  • Patent number: 8760969
Abstract: A system and method for detecting and measuring phenomena relating to altimetric variations in the seafloor. The system including an autonomous submarine vehicle equipped with at least one interferometric sonar sensor configured to send an acoustic signal towards the seafloor and acquire the image of the seafloor generated by the reflection of said acoustic signal sent. The system also including a plurality of elements reflecting sound waves firmly fixed to the seafloor so as to outline a reference path for the passage of the autonomous submarine vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20120113752
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for detecting and measuring phenomena relating to altimetric variations in the seafloor. The system (100) according to the present invention comprise an autonomous submarine vehicle (101) equipped with at least one interferometric sonar sensor (102) for sending an acoustic signal towards the seafloor and acquiring the image of the seafloor generated by the reflection of said acoustic signal sent, and is characterized in that it comprises a plurality of elements (103, 103?) reflecting the sound waves firmly fixed to the seafloor so as to outline a reference path for the passage of the autonomous submarine vehicle (101).

  • Patent number: 6583751
Abstract: Process for radar measurements of movements of city areas and landsliding zones, characterised in that permanent scatterers are identified through the analysis of N−1 differential interferograms with respect to the same image (master), using a reference digital elevation model (DEM) with vertical precision better that 50 meters. For every pixel of the image selected on the satistical properties of the modulus of the reflectivity, a temporal series of the interferometric phases is generated. Then, differences among temporal series that belong to neighboring pixels are formed (differential temporal series). For every differential temporal series, the linear phase components are calculated in relation to the baseline and the phase components connected to the displacement model, already known, in relation to the time.

  • Patent number: 5511038
Abstract: A process for preparing vertical seismic profiles (VSP) by bore drilling using, as the seismic source, the vibrations generated by the drilling bit. A cross-correlation between the bit signal and the signals collected by seismic geophone lines, is determined in which the bit signal is processed by arranging a plurality of several types of detectors on the bore drilling facility. A plurality of traces are recorded, in which the signal/noise components have different characteristics. These can be separated by means introducing filter functions by operating either on their Fourier Transforms or on the basis of their statistic distribution.

  • Patent number: 5332999
Abstract: A process for generating synthetic aperture radar interferograms comprises the following steps. First and a second radar images of a scene from a first and a second position spaced apart by a given baseline are generated. A first signal of said first image within a first radio frequency band of the spectrum is recorded. A second signal of said second image within a second radio frequency band of the spectrum having a frequency shift relatively to the first detecting band is recorded. The frequency shift being such that it ensures or maximizes correlation between the first and the second images. The first and second signals are combined for generating an interferogram of said scene.

  • Patent number: 4866448
Abstract: This invention concerns a synthetic aperture radar system within which focussing processing is achieved through the use of filter banks, based upon undersampling and polyphase networks. The focussing operation consists of the correlation of the datum with system response to a point scatterer.
