    Abstract: The invention concerns molecular rods, their uses in a method for fixing and/or crystallising macromolecules, the resulting products and uses of said products in the field of materials and structural biology, in particular as biosensors or as biomaterials. Said molecular rods have a structure represented by the general formula (I) and said method essentially consists in incubating, for at least 15 minutes, a biological macromolecule in solution with a molecular rod as defined by the formula, in suitable temperature and pH conditions.
