  • Patent number: 7980068
Abstract: A passive particulate filter assembly for filtering exhaust. The assembly includes a housing unit defining a filtering chamber having an inlet port and an outlet port. A cylindrical inner core member is disposed in the filtering chamber and is surrounded by a pleated cylindrical filter pack having first and second opposite ends. An end cap couples with the first end of the filter pack and is configured to prevent exhaust flow there through. An end plate is coupled to the second end of the filter pack and is configured to secure the filter pack to the housing unit. The filter pack comprises a woven metal fiber medium preferably manufactured from stainless steel or a nickel-chromium-iron alloy having a porosity of between about 2 to about 15 ?m.

  • Patent number: 7981176
Abstract: A particulate filter cartridge has a woven metal fiber filter medium surrounding a perforated support tube. The filter medium is crimped down to the support tube at opposite ends thereof and then welded to the support tube at the crimped regions. A plurality of such cartridges can then be nested within each other and separated by appropriate exhaust gas flow directing baffles to form a particulate filter assembly.

  • Patent number: 7845166
Abstract: An exhaust system for an engine with a plurality of combustion chambers. The exhaust system includes a first emission treatment device in fluid communication with at least one of the combustion chambers so as to receive exhaust therefrom. The exhaust system further includes a second emission treatment device in fluid communication with at least one other of the combustion chambers so as to receive exhaust therefrom. The second emission treatment device is also in fluid communication with a downstream end of the first emission treatment device so as to receive exhaust therefrom.

  • Patent number: 7712308
Abstract: A system and method for reducing nitrous oxides in diesel exhaust with hydrogen and carbon monoxide over a palladium based catalyst. The catalyst comprises a compound represented by the formula: X % Pd—Y % V2O5/Z, where X is between about 0.1 to about 2.0, Y is between about 0.1 to about 7.0, and Z is an oxide support.
