  • Patent number: 10610436
Abstract: A system in which technology is associated with adjustable furniture includes at least one use position (in which the technology is available for use) and a storage position (in which the technology is not available for use). The technology is movable between the use position and the storage position. At least one use position is preferably located near the head of the furniture. In the storage position, the technology may be in a container, which may be a sterilizing container. The movement of the technology between the use position and the storage position may be coordinated with the transition between the upright position of the furniture and the recline position of the furniture.

  • Patent number: 9771751
Abstract: The present invention includes three off-set hinges adapted to utilize the weight of the door to cause the door to self position and allow manual operation of the door. A center hinge includes a top leaf, a center pin, and a bottom leaf. The center pin includes an upper pin-portion adapted to slidably insert into an inverted slot on a top socket of the top leaf and an oppositely disposed lower pin-portion adapted to slidably insert into an upright cylindrical slot of the bottom leaf. A gear is disposed intermediate to the upper pin-portion and lower pin-portion. The gear is fixed or otherwise coupled to the pin whereby rotation of the gear results in corresponding rotation of the pin including both the top portion and the bottom portion. The lower pin-portion further includes a beveled lower (distal) end. This bevel matches a corresponding bevel in the bottom leaf.

  • Publication number: 20160072768
Abstract: The present invention includes an Internet-kill switch for physically opening and closing a first Internet connection. The switch receives a remote signal via either a second, dedicated and independent Internet connection or by a cellular (voice) phone connection. A solenoid controlled electromechanical switch opens and closes a physical switch that creates a circuit or cuts a circuit that includes an Internet feed line. The switch arranges between an upstream apparatus such as an Internet modem and a downstream apparatus such as a router. When a cellular module receives a first activation code from a remote source, the solenoid closes the switch, enabling the downstream apparatus to connect normally to the Internet. When the cellular module receives a second activation code the solenoid opens the switch thus physically severing communication between the upstream apparatus and downstream apparatus, thus killing the Internet connection.

  • Patent number: 8284018
Abstract: A first proximity sensor array arranged on a first side of a stall-door comprises three linearly aligned sensors whereby left-to-right movement of a patron's hand within the sensing zone causes a bathroom stall door to open. A second proximity sensor array arranged on a second side of the stall door comprises three linearly aligned sensors whereby right-to-left movement of a patron's hand within the sensing zone causes the door to close. A second right-to-left movement across the same second sensor array causes the stall door to lock and a first display array arranged on the first side of the door and a second display array arranged on the second side of the door alight, indicating the stall is occupied and locked. A left-to-right movement across the second sensor array causes the stall door to unlock and open, and the display arrays indicate the stall is available.
