Abstract: The present invention discloses a system for identifying a human face, which includes a visible light camera, an infrared (IR) camera, a non-contact temperature sensing device and a processing unit. The visible light camera and the IR camera aim at a same photograph zone for respectively photographing at least one visible-light picture and at least one IR picture. The non-contact temperature sensing device senses a present target temperature in a temperature sensing zone, which is in the photograph zone. When the processing unit detects that a human face is existed in the corresponding zone of the visible-light picture and that of the IR picture, it determines if the present target temperature is in a body-temperature range. When the present target temperature is in the body-temperature range, the processing unit determines that the human face detected in the corresponding zone is an alive human face.

Abstract: A communication method for storage device on the basis of file access is provided. When a storage controller is added with a nonstandard control function, a command file and a response file are virtually produced in the memory as the communicating interface with an application program. The virtual files can then be read and written using the standard storage control protocol. This avoids modifying the communicating interface between the driver program and the application program for the newly added nonstandard control protocol.

Abstract: A remote monitoring control method of a network camera is provided. The network camera is connected to an internal network host through a heterogeneous interface, and environmental parameters of the internal network host are automatically imported, so as to set the network camera. After the network camera is enabled, a network-address reporting procedure is executed, and an E-mail with a referral link generated based on the environmental parameters is transferred to an external local area network (LAN). An external monitoring host is directly connected to the network camera through the E-mail, so as to perform remote monitoring. In other words, the network camera is set and a remote monitoring is performed through the heterogeneous interface and the E-mail, such that the network camera can be easily enabled, and it is convenient for a user of the external network to perform remote monitoring.

Abstract: A storage device interface is provided, which includes a device end interface and a device end serial interface, wherein the device end interface and the device end serial interface are disposed in a microprocessor, such that the microprocessor activates one of the device end interface and the device end serial interface in response to a diagnosis signal.

Abstract: A web-based equipment firmware control system and method are provided, wherein a device is electrically connected to a computer executable platform through a communication interface, and a control webpage capable of controlling the equipment firmware is generated in a file system of the computer executable platform through the communication between the respective storage interfaces, provided in the device and the computer executable platform. Hereby, the control webpage is displayed to facilitate the operation of the user. As such, the user may issue the control instruction through the control webpage. Thus, the control instruction is sent to the equipment firmware for processing through the communication between the respective control interfaces. Then a return message indicating the processing result is transmitted back to the control webpage in a similar maimer through the respective control interfaces.

When the embedded system connecting to the computer is utilized to perform the firmware update, the update interface chip communicates directly with the computer and obtains from it the firmware-update-data, which is then written into the memory according to its respective destination address, thus achieving the update of the firmware.

Abstract: A communication interface for use in a personal computer is provided, which is electrically connected to a chip set in a personal computer, and is used for obtaining system information in the personal computer through a shared memory, and recording the system information in a storage memory, displaying files and programs stored inside by simulating the storage memory as a MSC (Mass Storage Class) disk, and also accessing internal data and executable programs in the storage memory by connecting with the communication interface from an external computer.

Abstract: An embedded system device customer service system and operation method thereof, which is based on an instinctive service enabling idea, automatically actuates the network function of a computer executable interface and connects the embedded system device to a remote customer service system after an embedded system device is physically connected to the computer executable interface also with network function. Therefore, a logic channel between the embedded system device without network function and the customer service system is built up to control the embedded system device and to transmit/receive a system customer service information without user's operation. In the preferred embodiment, the embedded system device is physically connected to the computer executable interface via a Universal Serial Bus (USB) interface. Accordingly, even if the embedded system device loses its own power, a real-time online customer service can be still performed.

Abstract: A method for controlling an embedded system device via standard file I/O from a host computer linked to the embedded system device is disclosed. In a preferred embodiment, the embedded system device and the host computer is connected through USB. The embedded system device is controlled via management of a system control file through a file I/O interface displaying in the host computer. The system control file in the embedded system device can be read, stored, modified and updated through the file I/O interface.
