Abstract: Mild-to-the-skin salts of anionic tensides of the sulfonate and sulfate type containing as the ion of opposite charge a highly basic protein aminolysate, and their use in washing, rinsing and cleansing compositions as well as in cosmetic preparations which extensively come into contact with the skin.

Abstract: This invention relates to clear, stable aqueous or aqueous-alcoholic solutions of fat-soluble perfume oils which contain hydroxyalkylether alkoxylates as solubilizers. Said solubilizers are prepared by reacting epoxyalkanes with mono- or polyfunctional alcohols and then reacting the reaction product thereof successively with propylene oxide and ethylene oxide.

Abstract: The present invention relates to cosmetic cleaning agents containing surface-active betaines of the formula. ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are aliphatic hydrocarbon radicals having 1 to 18 carbon atoms and/or hydrogen and the sum of the carbon atoms in R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 is 9 to 18; R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are the same or different and are lower alkyl or alkylol groups having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, x is an integer of 2 to 4, y is either 0 or 1, and z is an integer of 1 to 4; as well as their application as cleaning agents, for example, in hair washing and bathing preparations.

Abstract: An improvement in the process of setting hair comprising applying a film of a vinyl acetate copolymerizate consisting essentially of(a) from 65% to 80% by weight of vinyl acetate units,(b) from 10% to 20% by weight of units of a maleic acid diester with a straight-chained alkanol-1 having from about 8 to 10 carbon atoms,(c) from 5% to 20% by weight of units of a mono-olefinically unsaturated ester having from 6 to 8 carbon atoms and a hydrophilic group, and(d) from 3% to 10%, particularly 7%, by weight of crotonic acid and salts thereof,To the hair after setting the same; and hair setting agents in the form of hair sprays and setting lotions containing up to 10% by weight of said vinyl acetate copolymerizate and/or salts thereof.

Abstract: A hair cosmetic preparation for the shampooing and treatment of hair contains readily soluble, hardenable polycondensation products, the polycondensation products being reaction products of water-soluble polyamines with polyoxyalkylene glycol derivatives, which in turn is reacted with a bifunctional compound which contains more than one epoxide and/or .alpha.-halo-.beta.-hydroxy alkyl groups in the molecule, and gives the hair treated therewith excellent, lasting combability, and also softness and body.
