  • Patent number: 11353079
Abstract: A spring assembly with two or more springs, one inside another. The spring assembly can have two springs wherein one spring is located inside another spring, and the outer spring can be a helical ribbon spring and the inner spring can be a canted coil spring to provide support to the outer helical ribbon spring. Support is provided where the helical ribbon spring may have some limitations that the inner spring is able to overcome. Limitations of the helical ribbon spring may be a limited force versus deflection curve which the additional spring support of the secondary spring may overcome.

  • Patent number: 10935097
Abstract: A coil spring for use in a cavity, such as in a groove of a pin, a housing, or both. The cavity can also be part of a seal assembly. The coil spring can have a longitudinal component positioned within the plurality of interconnected coils that runs along the spring coil axis in order to increase rigidity of the coil spring. The longitudinal component applies a load against the coil spring and/or provides restriction against the coil spring taking a shape or size different than that of the coil spring retaining groove.

  • Patent number: 10117366
Abstract: Seal assemblies with a seal body having an inside flange and an outside flange that are biased outwardly away from one another by a spring energizer, such as a canted coil spring or a V-spring. The seal assemblies further include EMI shielding by incorporating at least one spring energizer that provides at least part of a conductive path between a housing and a pin. The conductive path can alternatively be provided by two different spring energizers and optionally with a conductive strip or trace or via a conductive contact ring element. The present seal assemblies are usable in applications having the needle for both sealing and EMI shielding.
