  • Patent number: 9388825
Abstract: The ventilation fan with automatic blade closure mechanism can include pivotable fan blades extending radially from a central hub. The fan blades pivot on their spars to allow the blades to assume positive pitch angles during operation. The fan blades are urged to a flat, substantially coplanar configuration when the fan is not in operation. A mechanism drives a motor shaft, the fan hub, and the blades axially outward for operation, and retracts the shaft, hub, and blades when the fan is not in operation. The tips of the blades seat in a groove of the surrounding rim when the fan is not in operation, with the outer surfaces of the blades, hub, and surrounding rim forming a substantially flat, continuous surface. This surface can be embellished with a decorative display, providing the fan with an attractive appearance when the fan is not in operation.

  • Patent number: 8803657
Abstract: The RFID-mechanical dual-mode entry key includes a key blade attached to and extending away from a housing. A double-pole, double-throw (DPDT) switch is disposed on the key blade housing. A microantenna disposed in the housing is connected to the switch. An unlock passive Radio Frequency microcircuit disposed in the key blade housing is operably connected to a first pole of the DPDT switch to activate the unlock passive RF microcircuit when the switch is thrown to the first pole, exclusively connecting the unlock passive RF microcircuit to the microantenna. A lock passive Radio Frequency microcircuit disposed in the key blade housing is operably connected to a second pole of the DPDT switch to activate the lock passive RF microcircuit when the switch is thrown to the second pole, exclusively connecting the lock passive RF microcircuit to the microantenna, The key supports remote/mechanical locking/unlocking of a vehicle door.

  • Patent number: 8720078
Abstract: The automatic hair dryer with fluid dispenser is used for smoothing and drying hair. The fluid dispenser is in the form of a tank, which is built into the handle of the hair dryer. When filled with water, the dispenser is capable of discharging a water spray during the drying process and smoothing the hair as it dries, enabling the user to style the hair into any desired hairstyle. A comb is attached to the upper portion of the hair dryer housing, and a moisture sensor is positioned on the teeth of the comb for determining the wetness of the hair, adjusting the heat and intensity of the air being produced by the fan over the heating elements, which is then blown onto the hair. The wetter the hair, the faster and hotter the air will blow.

  • Patent number: 8533995
Abstract: The automatic watering device for plants is placed in the soil of a potted plant. A float is housed in an outer chamber. The float has a ferrous metal contact at each end, with and the chamber has magnets at each end. The chamber top has a water inlet. The upper end of the float has a shutoff valve. The lower end of the chamber has a calibrated orifice for water dispensing. A water supply is connected to the chamber inlet. The water eventually provides sufficient buoyancy to the float to release it from its lower magnet and rise for attachment to the upper magnet, thereby shutting off the water inflow. Water continues to seep from the lower orifice until the level drops within the chamber to a point sufficient to cause the float to to drop from its upper magnet, allowing the water to again flow into the chamber.
