  • Patent number: 8376930
Abstract: An implantable system for erectile dysfunction treatment includes an implantable pump having an inlet and an outlet port. The inlet port is configured to receive blood from an artery within the body. The outlet port is configured to receive the blood from the inlet port and deliver that blood to an artery having a direct or indirect path to the corpora cavernosa of the penis. Activation of the pump, preferably via manual compression or electrical activation, causes the transfer of blood and ultimately an erection. Upon conclusion of sexual activity, blood drains from the penis in a normal manner and returns the penis to a flaccid state. The pump preferably incorporates a non-return valve to prevent backflow of blood from outlet port to inlet port.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 29, 2008
Date of Patent: February 19, 2013

  • Patent number: 5607011
Abstract: A condensing heat exchanger for removing acidic vapors and recovering residual waste heat energy normally rejected into the atmosphere from a fossil fueled boiler flue gas stream, wherein the waste heat energy in the boiler flue gas is recovered by multiple evaporative and condensing heat exchangers and by a heat pump refrigeration system to recover heat energy from the flue gas stream and to preheat the boiler combustion air stream and boiler feed water stream.

  • Patent number: 5351487
Abstract: A method for recovering and utilizing residual waste heat energy normally rejected into the atmosphere from a combined direct expansion refrigeration system driven by a natural gas or internal combustion engine, wherein the waste heat energy rejected from the condenser of the refrigeration system is combined with the heat energy rejected from the engine block cooling fluid and the exhaust gas stream and recovered by a refrigerant power fluid to drive a vapor power expander and co-generate auxiliary electric power.

  • Patent number: 5327987
Abstract: A hybrid-propulsion car system having one axle driven by an internal combustion engine and another axis driven by an electric motor. The waste heat of the internal combustion engine is absorbed by the engine cooling fluid, and is then heat exchanged with an evaporative fluid in a closed circuit. The evaporative fluid is vaporized by the heat of the engine cooling fluid in order to drive an expander which in turn drives an electric generator. The electric generator supplies current to a storage battery and to the electric motor.
