    Abstract: The present invention relates, in one aspect, to wax-like and lanolin-like formulations derived from natural-origin materials, particularly gum rosin combined with long-chain alcohols/polyols (fatty alcohols), the esters resulting from the esterification of these substances, and the polyols resulting from the hydroxylation of these esters, as well as its methods of preparation. The formulations of this invention maybe used as synthetic/natural wax substitutes in formulations for products, including but not limited to, cosmetics, foods and beverages, lanolin substitutes, adhesives, packaging and pharmaceuticals.
