    Abstract: Methods and reagents are disclosed for conducting assays. Embodiments of the present methods and reagents are concerned with chemiluminescent reagents for determining the presence and/or amount of an analyte in a sample suspected of containing the analyte. The reagent is non-particulate and comprises a binding partner for the analyte and a chemiluminescent composition comprising an olefinic compound and a metal chelate. In embodiments of an assay, a combination is provided that comprises a sample suspected of containing the analyte, a chemiluminescent reagent as described above and a sensitizer reagent capable of generating singlet oxygen. The combination is subjected to conditions for binding of the analyte to the binding partner for the analyte. The sensitizer is activated and the amount of luminescence generated by the chemiluminescent composition is detected wherein the amount of luminescence is related to the amount of the analyte in the sample.

    Abstract: A polarity swing-assisted regeneration (PSAR) process is disclosed for improving the efficiency of releasing gases chemically bound to switchable ionic liquids. Regeneration of the SWIL involves addition of a quantity of non-polar organic compound as an anti-solvent to destabilize the SWIL, which aids in release of the chemically bound gas. The PSAR decreases gas loading of a SWIL at a given temperature and increases the rate of gas release compared to heating in the absence of anti-solvent.

In this example, the system can generate the complementary 3D image based on the spatial mapping data and the base image so that the complementary 3D image augments the base image and is dependent on a perspective of the user. The system can also update the complementary 3D image as the perspective of the user in the environment changes.

    Abstract: An open water pump comprises an upper casing, a lower casing, an impeller having a central shaft and a plurality of blades. Each blade has an upper portion and a lower portion. The upper casing has an upper chamber, the lower casing has a lower chamber. A plurality of inlets attached below and to a side of the lower casing, and a plurality of outlets attached to a side of the upper casing. At least the bottom portion of the lower portion of each blade which attached to the shaft gradually bends along a rotation direction of the impeller, and a ratio of a height of the lower portion of each blade to a height of the upper portion is between 1 and 5. The impeller can be allowed to draw water at a low water level, foam formed by washing liquid or food debris on the surface of water can be less likely to get into the impeller to influence the drawing of water, a sufficient amount of water can be drawn from the water inlets.

A closure is secured onto the vessel to form an enclosed volume containing the beverage. A probe is inserted through the closure to contact the beverage, and a sample is transferred from the vessel to a measurement instrument to determine the carbon dioxide level. The methods allow for significantly greater precision and reliability in measuring carbonation levels of open-container beverages relative to currently available techniques.

    Abstract: The invention discloses a Dendrobium in vitro crossbreeding method. The method can be used to greatly shorten the maturation period of fruits, to enable a hybrid to bloom in vitro in a short period so as to observe flower shapes and colors, and to cultivate a novel variety, thus accelerating Dendrobium breeding, the first such report internationally. Since in vitro Dendrobium blooms annually, it enables crossbreeding of varieties having different inflorescences in nature. In addition, the medium used at each stage of the invention utilizes Hyponex which has a unique composition and costs little, thus allowing for a high blossoming rate and rapid fruit development. Also, only simple plant tissue culture equipment is required for implementing the invention, thus the entire breeding method is simple and low cost, and provides conditions for cultivating of high-quality Dendrobium varieties.
