  • Publication number: 20030222001
Abstract: A process for handling articles in the mail order business, particularly soft-good articles and hard-good articles, whereby each article is chaotically entered into a receptacle that holds only one article and this receptacle is incorporated into a commissioning device that has a plurality of receptacles, during which process the identifier of the receptacles and the identifier of the article are married to one another by a computer unit.

  • Patent number: 6405100
Abstract: The invention concerns a method and device for the automatic loading of e.g. commissioned goods in the form of articles into or onto individual transport containers such as cardboard boxes or pallets. The goods, all or some of which may be commissioned, are conveyed to at least one pre-defined loading point past which the transport containers continuously move. The goods are placed in or on the appropriate transport container at the loading point. The supplying and loading of the goods and the movement of the transport containers are controlled in timely, i.e. synchronized, fashion by a control unit.

  • Patent number: 5834706
Abstract: Apparatus and method for handling of packages containing goods in a warehouse and for verifying contents of the packages includes conveying the packages through consecutive stations; performing a plausibility check on the packages by generating and outputting signals which are indicative of respective plausibility parameters, and inputting the electrical signals to the computer for effecting a plausibility determination, the plausibility check being composed of weighing the packages and outputting a signal indicative of weight; measuring volume of the packages and outputting a signal indicative of volume; and measuring at least one property of the goods contained in the packages and outputting a signal indicative of the at least one property; and inputting electrical signals outputted from the identifying and performing steps to the computer; comparing the respective signals inputted to the computer with respective predetermined data stored in the computer and generating a plausibility determination including

  • Patent number: 5230206
Abstract: The invention provides a method and a system for making up consignments from articles supplied in packs. It consists essentially of a consignment-assembly unit (9) that supplies individually supplied articles via a sorter (10) having inward conveyors (30,31) to an array of rack sections (14) through which the articles pass to be assembled into consignments via an outward conveyor (32). The individual articles are unpacked from the packs and the packs are temporally buffered by means of an intermediate store (6). Control is effected by a computer (2) which issues control data (d) to the intermediate store (6) and the various positions of the consignment-assembly unit (9) on the basis of goods received data (a) and customer order data (b) so as to determine, starting from the intermediate store (6), which article is to pass at which time to any particular rack section (14) and is to be available at a further particular time at the outlet in a consignment.

  • Patent number: 4426189
Abstract: A method for assembling consignments of articles stored in storage containers in a high shelf by means of a consignment assembler, which collects during the course of one single or round trip along the high shelf all the articles of a plurality of orders from the high shelf. In addition, a consignment assembler is described, which is characterized by a plurality of collector buckets.

  • Patent number: 4417630
Abstract: The invention describes a method for checking the weight of consignments assembled in containers, where the net weight of a container is measured during the passage and transmitted to a consignment computer, the weight of the container filled with the articles of this consignment is also measured in the passage and transmitted to the computer, which ascertains the difference of the two weights as the actual weight of the consignment and compares it against the fed-in nominal weight of the consignment in question, whereupon in case of a deviation of the actual weight from the nominal weight above a predetermined tolerance boundary the container in question is sorted out.
