  • Patent number: 5066863
Abstract: The integral absorbed local dose of ambient high-energy radiation is measurred by means of a moulded cord (1) made of extrudable materials, which is self-supporting or can be incorporated in an elongated object such as an electric cable, pipe or the like. These materials contain substances which undergo an optical change and/or modification of their molecular structure under the influence of a high-energy radiation. Sections (2) are taken from the moulded cord (1) and the radiaiton dose absorbed is measured.

    Filed: November 1, 1989
Date of Patent: November 19, 1991
    Assignee: Kabelmetal Electro GmbH
    Inventors: Ferdinand Hanisch, Eckard Schleese
  • Patent number: 4785138
Abstract: An electric cable to be used as phase winding of a three-phase alternating current winding for linear motors. The cable has a compacted, soft-annealed stranded conductor (5) on which a conductive layer (7) is firmly anchored. The insulation (8) and the outer conductive layer (9) are applied in the same operation as the extruded inner conductive layer (7) and are firmly attached to the latter. A sheathing (10) which is of good electrical conductivity and mechanically stable is applied over the outer conductive layer (9).

  • Patent number: 4458105
Abstract: A cable core, comprising conductors with insulation and carrying a conductive shield layer is protected and shielded by a corrugated metal tube cooperating either with individual, electrically conductive sealing rings, or a conductive helical sealing ribbon with foam filling any gaps. The construction ensures adequate space for thermal expansion of the insulation without undue tensioning of the tube. A method of making the assembly is described and examples for the ribbon and the foam are given.
