  • Patent number: 7987539
Abstract: Disclosed is the use of the compound of formula wherein R1 is hydrogen; or C1-C5alkyl for the fungicidal treatment of hard surfaces and textile fiber materials. The compounds of formula (1) impart antifungal properties to washed textile material. Bacteria that get on the textile material while it is being worn are destroyed.

  • Patent number: 6730655
Abstract: There are described diquaternary ammonium compounds of the general formula: wherein R1 and R4 are each independently of the other C4-C16alkyl, phenyl or phenyl-C1-C10 alkyl, R2, R3, R5 and R6 are each independently of the others C1-C4alkyl, and A is a monovalent anion. The compounds exhibit a pronounced action against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, and also against yeast, molds and algae. They are accordingly suitable for the antimicrobial treatment of surfaces and for the preservation and disinfection of materials and cosmetic products, and especially also for the preparation of solid or liquid formulations and for the preservation of foodstuffs and drinks. The compounds are furthermore suitable for imparting antimicrobial properties to technical plant and for antimicrobial water treatment.

Inventors: Dieter Reinehr, Dietmar Ochs, Hanspeter Sauter, Fernand Hoffstetter
  • Patent number: 6620854
Abstract: There are described surface-active soap compositions containing (a) from 0.01 to 2% by weight of an antimicrobial active ingredient from the class of diphenyl ethers, (b) from 0.1 to 30% by weight of a hydrotropic agent, (c) from 6.0 to 50% by weight of one or more synthetic detergents or soaps or a combination of such substances, (d) from 0 to 70% by weight of a monohydric or dihydric alcohol, and (e) tap water or deionised water ad 100%. The composition is used for disinfecting and cleaning human skin and hands and hard objects, and in washing and cleaning formulations for textile fibre materials.
