  • Patent number: 6814068
Abstract: An arrow support device for holding an arrow with respect to a bow in a ready-to-draw-and-fire position. The arrow shaft is supported by an arrow rest that may be deflected downwardly against a bias. The arrow support device also includes an upper arm adapted to hold the arrow shaft against the arrow rest. The arrow rest is interconnected to the upper arm such that when the arrow rest is deflected downwardly, the upper arm concurrently automatically moves upwardly, whereby any potential contact of the arrow shaft or arrow vanes with the upper arm is minimized or eliminated.

  • Patent number: 6742510
Abstract: A substantially conically shaped arrow rest having a substantially centered aperture through which the shaft of the arrow is adapted to extend. The arrow rest possesses several slits extending from the aperture so that when the arrow is shot, the aperture may distend to accommodate distortions of the arrow shaft and to allow the arrow vanes to pass substantially freely therethrough. Also preferably the arrow rest resiliently deflects radially outwardly in the region of the aperture so as to produce a biasing force that dampens the oscillations of the arrow upon being shot.

  • Patent number: 6637419
Abstract: A spring loaded capsule that accepts a rotatable shaft upon which a launcher arm or other type of arrow support mechanism is mounted. The capsule includes a spring for exerting a biasing force against the rotatable shaft and includes a mechanism for limiting the rotation of the shaft in response to the spring bias. The capsule may be used interchangeably with a variety of similarly sized shafts and a variety of launcher arms.

  • Patent number: 6615813
Abstract: A fall away arrow rest in which the launcher arm normally extends upwardly and forwardly in the arrow window and is adapted to fall immediately downwardly under spring bias upon firing the arrow. The arrow rest includes a mechanism for maintaining the launcher arm in the substantially upward position during substantially the entire draw of the arrow.

  • Patent number: 6178959
Abstract: An adjustable arrow rest includes an elongated mounting plate provided with a plurality of apertures to facilitate securement of the mounting plate to a bow. The arrow rest also includes a slide block having vertical and horizontal leg portions provided with independently adjustable lead screw mechanisms which allow the precision adjustment of arrow rest launcher arms in vertical and horizontal directions. A substantially vertically extending guide rib disposed adjacent one end of the mounting plate engages a complementary guide channel on the vertical leg portions of the slide block, mounting the slide block for selective reciprocal linear adjustment in a substantially vertical direction relative to the mounting plate.

  • Patent number: 4565377
Abstract: The arrow includes an elongated shaft having spaced rear stabilizing vanes extending generally longitudinally and diagonally, and a broadhead detachably connected to the front of the shaft. The broadhead has an elongated central core with slots receiving spaced sharp blades held in place at their front tips by a point releasably screwed to the front end of the core and at their rear ends by a ring which fits over notched blade portions. The broadhead includes spaced front stabilizing vanes extending generally longitudinally and diagonally in the same direction as the rear vanes to greatly increase arrow spin, speed, shooting accuracy and killing power. The front vanes may be all of each of the blades themselves or their bent rear portions or may be separate vanes disposed in a fitting at the rear of the core. The point can have chiseled diagonal outer recesses for better bone penetration. The broadhead and arrow are inexpensive, durable and efficient.

  • Patent number: 4236497
Abstract: The improved archery assembly comprises, in combination, an archery bow having an arrow shelf and sidewall defining a window, an archery arrow and an improved arrow rest disposed in said window and supporting said arrow for shooting from said bow. The rest includes a flexible resilient pair of arms, spaced above the arrow shelf, defining a gap and releasably holding the arrow over the gap for free unimpeded flight in the space below the rest upon shooting the arrow. The flexible resilient arms can be made laterally and vertically adjustable and are secured to the bow by supports structure which may include a connector and a bracket secured to the bow through the connector. The arms may be, for example, horizontal coiled wires directed toward each other and upon the ends of which the arrow rests, or they may be in the form of an arcuate, depending semicircular band or cup grasping the upper and middle periphery of the arrow.

  • Patent number: 4183346
Abstract: The improved draw check of the present invention includes a support plate, a device for affixing the rear surface of the support plate to the window of an archery bow adjacent the bow arrow rest, and a resilient arm secured, preferably pivotably secured, to the exposed front surface of the support plate. The arm is a single blade and includes a portion adapted to contact the outer margin of an arrow when the latter is on the arrow rest for shooting from the bow. That portion of the arm includes a leading end and a trailing end, the leading end having a part projecting toward the support a greater distance than the trailing end projects toward the support. With this arrangement, the archer can draw an arrow (while on the bowstring) on the arrow rest back past the check's leading end, thus causing it to suddenly move toward the support, and then further back past the trailing end, causing a further sudden movement of the draw check toward the support, in both cases signaling the position of the arrow.
