  • Patent number: 9051823
Abstract: Fluid flow measurement device and method. In one embodiment, a tool comprises a rotating arm with a sensor pad to measure fluid flow into or out of the casing wall. The arm maintains the sensor pad in close proximity to the casing inner wall. The tool diameter is variable to allow the tool to traverse variable diameter casings and pass obstacles. The sensor pad comprises flow channels to direct the flow of fluid by electromagnetic sensors configured to detect conductive fluid flow.

  • Publication number: 20140366640
Abstract: Fluid flow measurement sensor, method, and analysis are disclosed, which provide for the measurement and processing of array sensor data. Other embodiments provide for determination of flow rate from the array sensor data, and for diagnosis of a conduit wall anomaly based on anomaly shape.

  • Publication number: 20140260587
Abstract: An embodiment method for measuring fluid flow in a casing includes inserting a logging tool into the casing, wherein the logging tool having an internal axial flow channel and an electromagnetic flowmeter sensor disposed in the internal flow channel. The method also includes measuring an axial conductive fluid flow through the flow channel with the electromagnetic flowmeter sensor, while allowing bypass axial fluid flow to bypass the internal flow channel substantially unimpeded between an exterior of the logging tool and an interior wall of the casing.

  • Patent number: 5062084
Abstract: A method and apparatus for acquiring acoustical data from a borehole and is especially useful in carrying out tomogrphy surveys. The borehole digital geophone (BDG) tool of the present invention is capable of operating from a standard, 7-conductor logging cable with no special cables being required since the individual digital geophone modules (DGM) which form the BDG tool are connected together by short, separate lengths of the same 7-conductor cable. Each DGM acquires, digitizes, stacks, and stores data generated by its own three-component geophone assembly prior to transmitting these signals to the surface over a dedicated conductor in the cable thereby substantially increasing the sample rate of the tool which, in turn, substantially reduces the field time to run a tomography survey.

  • Patent number: 4580057
Abstract: A neutron detector system is disclosed wherein a neutron charge amplifier discriminator circuit is used in conjunction with a neutron detector enabling detection of nuclear events, amplification of extremely small signals, conditioning of the signals, further amplification of the signal, discrimination of the signals, conversion into digital form and counting for a predetermined time period.

  • Patent number: 4506263
Abstract: A system for storing and transmitting pulse count information is disclosed wherein electrical pulses produced by logging tools, such as thermal neutron, are counted and stored downhole to remove the effect of lengthly transmission lines. In a further embodiment a coded multiplexed signal is transmitted uphole indicating the tool from which the transmitted data was received and the total count for a predetermined time period.
