  • Publication number: 20190223023
Abstract: Virtual CPE (vCPE) of a plurality of enterprises is sliced according to each enterprise's user-group profiles. Several apparatuses are hosted by a service provider within a control center, which are remotely located: (a) to store different user-group profiles of each enterprise in a policy server, and (b) to remotely control the slicing of various components of the vCPE according to user-group profiles. Several interconnected components are also hosted by the enterprise as the vCPE including a local RAN and associated local core network, a network switch connecting a LAN and various WAN connections, virtualized network functions as well as the local core network, and a control agent apparatus that receives directives from the remote control center and applies these directives onto aforementioned enterprise apparatus components to achieve slicing. The vCPE is sliced per user-group, wherein each slice acts as a separate transport-technology-agnostic virtual network segment within the enterprise.

  • Patent number: 10003909
Abstract: Means for enabling the integration of a Sensor Management System (SMS) to a programmable radio access network (ProgRAN) controller are described. The integration allows an efficient management of the radio access network capacity as the needs for the backhaul of the sensor network changes. When a sensor is turned on or programmed to a higher profile, which requires larger wireless backhaul bandwidth, the associated wireless link on the programmable RAN is instantly allocated with more network resources by the controller to accommodate the additional sensor traffic. One implementation could be a software application on a computer, which attaches to both the SMS and the RAN controller, and mediates the messaging in real-time between these two components.

  • Publication number: 20150049599
Abstract: This invention relates to remedying a major shortcoming of the 3G and beyond cellular wireless communications network architecture, where an intermittent IP network failure causes mobile (cellular) user stations attached to a mini base station (MBS) to become unreachable after the failure is cleared. The MBS automatically changes its configuration and particularly its Location Area Code (LAC) value from its previous LAC (i.e., before the occurrence of the failure), according to an aspect of this invention, to force the mobile user equipment (MUE) to re-register with the cellular wireless communications network after the IP network failure is cleared. Doing so, the MUE becomes reachable without needing any manual power cycling of the MBS or the MUE.
