  • Patent number: 4886404
Abstract: A support assembly is provided that includes a plurality of inelastic, flexible cables that are joined together by a plurality of spaced apart securement members in order to form a wedging elongated eye. An end assembly of the support assembly passes through the elongated eye in one direction, after which a retaining member thereof is moved from a longitudinal, feedable orientation to a transverse, locking orientation. An especially secure engagement is provided. The support assembly is especially suitable as a safety cable for a bulkhead assembly.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 20, 1989
Date of Patent: December 12, 1989
    Assignee: Ireco, Inc.
Inventors: Finn Jensen, Rudolph E. Nadherny
  • Patent number: 4885061
Abstract: A brake hanger suspension for suspending and securing a brake hanger between a pair of ears on a truck side frame of a railroad car wherein a pair of retainer blocks, between which the upper portion of the brake hanger extends, are locked together and between the ears by mating formations, and the resulting assembly locked together and in place by a U-shaped key or retainer.

  • Patent number: 4580961
Abstract: An oblong cheese mould (1) having a substantially constant cross-section has in its side wall (3) slits (2) for drainage of whey from the cheese mass received by the cheese mould. According to the invention, the slits (2) extend transversely to the longitudinal direction of the mould, and their width, measured internally in the longitudinal direction of the cheese mould (1), is smaller than the cheese particles in the cheese mass, and the bottom (14) of the slits (2) facing the exterior of the mould is substantially closed, apart from channels (4) for drainage of the whey. This causes the cheese to be movable longitudinally of the mould because of its own weight so that the cheese obtains a very smooth surface, and thus the mould easily releases the cheese.

  • Patent number: 4312410
Abstract: In a rotary earth crumbler having a central shaft (1) with mounting discs (2) fast thereon and an annular series of U-shaped resilient stirrups (3), the leg portions of these stirrups are formed with an outwardly convex curved section (12) which extends into a fixing slot (11) in the mounting disc and is then locked therein by deformation of parts of the slot borders below the mid portion of the curved section, thereby narrowing said slot. The locking may easily be released when needed, viz. by bringing the slot borders back to the original shape.

  • Patent number: 4266897
Abstract: Lading tie anchor installed by welding a tie bar in a scoop in a doorpost channel or the side lining of a steel-lined box car or the like. The lading tie anchor installation includes a tie bar which has a repetitive series of novel formations in its length which impart to it adequate strength while being formed of a relatively light gauge metal strip. The scoop and lading tie anchor have cooperative locator formations therein which facilitate fast and accurate installation.

  • Patent number: 4222538
Abstract: Pipe anchor for anchoring pipes to structural members and particularly for anchoring air lines and train pipes to structural members in the underframes of railway cars. Each anchor is a combination of three cooperating parts, namely, an adapter, a base, and a clamp. The adapter is the part that is attached to a structural member preferably by welding. The base is in the form of a saddle which seats on the pipe-engaging section of the adapter and has opposed sides which embrace a pipe on opposite sides and terminate in outturned, inclined, longitudinal flanges. The clamp engages the pipe diametrically opposite from the adapter and has inwardly opening inclined, longitudinal channels adapted to slide over the outturned flanges and draw the three-part assembly into equi-spaced four-point embracing support contact with the pipe.
