  • Patent number: 7032709
Abstract: An exhaust-gas muffler includes a muffler housing (2) having an inlet opening (3) and an outlet (4). The exhaust-gas muffler is especially for the internal combustion engine in a portable handheld work apparatus. At least one attenuating space (5, 5?, 5?) is configured in the exhaust-gas muffler (1). The exhaust-gas muffler (1) includes at least one resonance pipe (6) to increase power and to reduce the hydrocarbon emissions. The resonance pipe (6) is fluidly connected to the inlet opening (3) and the resonance pipe leads to a backflow of exhaust gases into the combustion chamber (22). For a simple manufacture, it is provided that the exhaust-gas muffler (1) includes lower and upper half shells (8, 7) via which the resonance pipe (6) is at least partially delimited.

  • Patent number: 6962132
Abstract: An intake arrangement for an internal combustion engine includes an intake channel (80) which connects the clean side (81) of an air filter (41) to the engine. The intake channel (80) is subdivided by a partition wall (11) into an air channel (8) and a mixture channel (21). A throttle flap is mounted in the intake channel (80). A fuel opening (27, 28) for supplying fuel opens into the mixture channel (21). In order to avoid a throw back of fuel from the mixture channel (21) into the air channel (8), it is provided that the clean side (81) of the air filter (41) is divided into two chambers (82 and 83) and the mixture channel (21) opens into the first chamber (82) and the air channel (8) opens into the second chamber (83).

  • Publication number: 20050139177
Abstract: A cylinder for an internal combustion engine of a manually guided implement, and a method of producing such a cylinder, are provided. A cast cylinder body that peripherally delineates a cylinder chamber has formed therein at least one transfer channel that is open inwardly into the cylinder chamber and includes a central portion, extending approximately parallel to the cylinder axis, and a head portion that above the central portion faces in the direction of the cylinder chamber. A cylindrical sleeve covers the central portion of the transfer channel inwardly in the direction of the chamber. The sleeve extends in the direction of the cylinder axis beyond the central portion and ends below the head portion.

  • Patent number: 6860019
Abstract: A tool head of a trimmer is provided, and has a gear mechanism housing and a rotatably drivable tool shaft that is mounted in the housing. Held upon the tool shaft is a hub portion that rotates with the tool shaft. On that side that faces the hub portion, the tool head is provided with at least one stripping edge, which has a radial component that extends from the inside to the outside, and which projects beyond the contour of the hub portion.

  • Patent number: 6787028
Abstract: The invention relates to an operating substance tank (1), especially for a portable handheld work apparatus (2) having a fill opening (3) and an outflow opening (4). The operating substance tank (1) is configured from a first housing part (6) and a second housing part (7) connected to the first housing part in order to configure the operating substance tank (1) in a simple assembly so that the operating substance can be made available without disruption. A filter wall (8) is configured as one piece from a housing part (6) and partitions the tank housing (5) of the operating substance tank (1) into at least two spaces (9, 10).

  • Patent number: 6622387
Abstract: The invention relates to an operating substance tank (1) which is especially for a portable handheld work apparatus (2). The tank (1) has a fill opening (3) and a suction connection (4). The tank is configured from a first housing part (6) and a second housing part (7) connected to the first housing part (6). In this way, the tank is built up in a simple manner and is operationally reliable. A valve (8) is formed in the interior of the tank (1) so that a valve member (9) is held by the first housing part (6) and the valve member (9) comes into seal-tight contact on an opening (10) of a through bore (11) on the second housing part (7). The valve (8) functions especially as an aerating valve for the tank (1).
