  • Publication number: 20200314458
Abstract: Computer-implemented event detection includes obtaining, at one or more processors, multimedia data including multiple frames of video data and corresponding audio data. The processor(s) process the multiple frames to detect at least one object and to track the object(s) between two or more of the frames. The processor(s) generate sonification audio data representing a position of the object(s) in the two or more frames, movement of the object(s), or both the position and the movement of object(s). The processor(s) generate combined audio data including the audio data and the sonification audio data. The processor(s) generate one or more feature vectors representing the combined audio data and provide the feature vector(s) as input to a trained event classifier to detect an event represented in the multimedia data.

  • Publication number: 20200290820
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for assigning one or more conveyor belts to convey a plurality of items. The computer-implemented method determines an availability of one or more conveyor belts, determines a quantity of a plurality of items to be loaded onto the one or more conveyor belts, and assigns the one or more conveyor belts to convey the plurality of items, based on the determined quantity of the plurality of items to be loaded onto the one or more conveyor belts. The computer-implemented method further tracks a location of each of the plurality of items on the assigned one or more conveyor belts, associates each of the plurality of items with a user, and directs the user to the one or more conveyor belts based on the tracked location of each of the plurality of items associated with the user.

  • Patent number: 10776582
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for supporting combinations of intents in a conversation service. In one embodiment, the computer-implemented method provides a conversation service using a set of conversation trees. Each conversation tree within the set of conversation trees comprises a list of intents that define how to answer to a certain type of user input. The computer-implemented method creates an intent graph using the list of intents of each conversation tree within the set of conversation trees. The computer-implemented method adds composite intents to the set of conversation trees using the intent graph to generate a set of updated conversation trees. The computer-implemented method configures the conversation service to use the set of updated conversation trees that comprises composite intents for supporting combinations of intents.

  • Patent number: 10769377
Abstract: Aspects include learning object/action pairs for recipe ingredients. A method includes extracting an ingredient list that includes a plurality of entries from a recipe stored in an electronic format. Each of the plurality of entries includes one or more words. For each multi-word entry in the ingredient list, an ingredient associated with the entry is identified by comparing words contained in the entry to terms in a lexicon of cooking domain terms. It is determined whether an action corresponds to the identified ingredient. The determining includes parsing the entry to locate a verb that is associated with the identified ingredient. Based on determining that an action corresponds to the identified ingredient, a food item action pair that includes the identified ingredient and the located verb is output.

  • Patent number: 10755035
Abstract: In an approach to determining one or more logical breaks in a digital text, a computer determines a reading speed of a user for a current reading session of a digital text and an available time for the current reading session for the user. The computer then determines, based, at least in part, on the reading speed and the available time, a user range in the digital text for the current reading session, and then one or more possible logical breaks within the user range. The computer further determines a first logical break, based on the determined user range, of the one or more possible logical breaks for the current reading session.

  • Patent number: 10650240
Abstract: An approach is provided in which an information handling system trains a classifier using rated content segments that each has a first content type rating corresponding to a content type. Then, the information handling system uses the trained classifier to classify unrated content segments corresponding to an unrated content and generates second content type ratings for each of unrated content segments accordingly that identify a corresponding content type. In turn, the information handling system generates an overall content rating of the unrated content based on a combination of the second content type ratings.

  • Publication number: 20200125636
Abstract: Embodiments relate to a system, program product, and method for use with an intelligent computer platform and cognitive processing and associated distribution. The embodiments support a mechanism for dynamically sharing critical and non-critical information responsive to a classification model, such that only relevant information or part of the information is shared. As the classification model is subject to modification, the dynamic sharing mechanism is dynamically updated to reflect such modification. Similarly, as an associated document or file is subject to modification, dynamic processing of the document or file takes place responsive to the classification model. The dynamic classification and document processing employ NLP and ML models to support the associated functionality.

  • Patent number: 10599994
Abstract: A mechanism is provided for modifying an existing recipe to meet a set of desired colors for a final food dish. Responsive to receiving a request to modify the existing recipe to meet the set of desired colors, at least one of the set of existing colors to be changed to meet the desired set of colors is identified. An ingredient-action-sequence triplet associated with each at least one existing color to be changed in the existing recipe is identified and, from a corpus of ingredient-action-sequence triplets associated with other existing recipes, one or more candidates that can be added to produce the at least one target color are identified. The one or more candidates that can be added are ranked based on how each candidate pairs best with other ingredients in the existing recipe. Based on a selection of a candidate, the existing recipe is modified with the selected candidate.
