  • Publication number: 20160060899
Abstract: A design for a vehicle ignition key or retrofit thereof which eliminates or significantly reduces an unintentional torque from being transmitted to the ignition switch which may cause a change in state of that switch. This is accomplished by eliminating the lever arm of the key to key chain interface and allowing free rotation in that interface.

  • Patent number: 8473242
Abstract: A system and method are provided for tracking race participants via a Global Positioning System, providing feedback in substantially real time to the race participant, and optionally to other remote individuals via web publication at the user's preference. The feedback includes graphical and tabular presentation of such information as geographic position, race route, current race performance metrics, projection of future milestone and final race performance, projected position at a given time, projected time to a given position, relative performance to historical participants, to personal historical performance and to other members of the current race that are being tracked in aggregate or by demographic or otherwise subdivided.

  • Publication number: 20110250937
Abstract: Method of tracking race participants via the Global Positioning System, providing near real time feedback to the race participant, and optionally to others individuals or to publication on the web at the user's preference.

  • Publication number: 20090150833
Abstract: A screen saver utilizing screen content that is provided from a remote server and optionally selected based on the end-user's inferred interest in previous content. Further functionality in the screen saver that would monitor the level of usage (such as time that the screen saver is active) and report this to a central server where a “lottery like” selection of a winner(s) would be made. The winner(s) would then be provided a prize and optionally featured in subsequent screen saver content. The purpose of the above scheme being to create an incentive for usage of the screen saver which would include content that has advertising or other value to a sponsoring entity.

  • Patent number: 7044711
Abstract: This device utilizes a helical baffle inside of generally cylindrical housing to convert potential energy of a fluid to kinetic and/or mechanical energy that can be captured for productive use. The housing's axis is positioned at an angle from horizontal and the fluid is entered into the high end of the device. The helical baffles convert the gravity-induced pressure of the water into a torque moment around the axis of the cylinder causing the helix to rotate. Mechanical energy is then extracted from this rotation and utilized in a productive manner, typically by driving an electrical generator. The implementation of this concept in hydroelectric applications provides substantial benefits over traditional turbine generation in efficiency and reducing environmental concerns.
