  • Patent number: 8282443
Abstract: An automatic machine and an automatic method for grinding the perimetric edge of rectangular or nonrectangular of glass sheets arranged substantially vertically, comprising at least one conveyor and at least one workhead provided with an abrasive tool for grinding the glass sheet at its edge, following its perimetric profile by way of the relative action of movement of the glass sheet and movement of the at least one workhead. During grinding, the glass sheet is no longer supported and moved by the conveyor but by at least one carriage, to which the glass sheet is coupled by way of at least one sucker.

  • Patent number: 8161905
Abstract: An automatic machine for versatile and alternative application of at least two types of sealant along the perimetric rim of an insulating glazing unit, whose spacer frame is constituted preferably but not exclusively by a continuous strip of expanded synthetic material. In particular, the machine allows simple and quick switching from one sealant to another, since the path of the plurality of sealants which starts from their feed, be they of the hot and/or cold extruded type, uses a plurality of ducts which reach the extrusion nozzles that are active proximate to the perimetric rim of the insulating glazing unit.

  • Patent number: 7922842
Abstract: An automatic device for perimetric sealing of an insulating glazing unit composed of at least two glass panes and at least one spacer frame supported and movable in a slightly inclined position with respect to the vertical on a conveyor. A sealing head movable with relative motion with respect to the glazing unit has at least one sealing nozzle suitable to deliver a sealant flow. In order to maintain the correct mutual position of said at least one sealing nozzle with respect to the cavities of the glazing unit to be sealed and to allow the spacing of the nozzle therefrom, a sensor is provided transversely to the plane of the insulating glazing unit that detects the distance from the glass pane. An actuation mechanism is further provided for the relative motion between the sealing head and nozzle and the glazing unit.

  • Publication number: 20100096069
Abstract: An automatic machine and an automatic method for the application of a spacer profile, preferably made of expanded synthetic material, on a glass sheet in order to compose the insulating glazing unit, after extrusion of a thermoplastic sealant on a portion of each one of its faces designed for mating. The process for extrusion of the sealant on the profile is independent of the process for applying the profile on the glass sheet, so that therefore each one of the two processes can be performed by using its optimum parameters.

  • Publication number: 20030059532
Abstract: The present invention relates to an automatic machine and an automated procedure for the extrusion and application of sealant onto the lateral walls of a spacer frame for insulating glass, mainly of rectangular shape yet not ruling out shapes differing from rectangular with the introduction of a specific option. An essential feature of the machine consists in that the “spacer frame”, which always results as being suspended, requires neither resting nor running bases and therefore the surfaces which have been spread with sealant will never be contaminated by any other agent.

  • Patent number: 5735318
Abstract: An automatic method and device for filling, with gases other than air, insulating glazing units. The method entailing a step for injecting the gas and expelling the air so as to produce a laminar flow through a manifold constituted by the hollow region of the profile that forms the spacer frame. The method and the device allow a considerable saving in costs, reducing the amount of gas required for filling to an amount very close to the volume of the inner space provided in the insulating glazing unit.
