Abstract: A subject-matter of the present invention is a nail varnish comprising a solvent medium composed of one or more solvents of plant origin, at least one polysaccharide ester or alkyl ether and at least one plant resin. An additional subject-matter of the invention is a cosmetic method for making up or for the non-therapeutic care of the nails comprising the application, to the nails, of at least one layer of a nail varnish in accordance with the invention. Finally, the invention relates to a flexible article comprising, in particular in an adhesive layer, at least one plant resin, at least one plasticizer and preferably at least one solvent of plant origin, characterized in that the plasticizer is chosen from caprylic and/or capric acid esters or an ester of caprylyl and/or capryl alcohol, and especially caprylic and/or capric acid triglycerides.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a nail varnish composition comprising, in a cosmetically acceptable medium comprising an organic solvent medium, at least one block polymer and at least one plasticizer, such that when the composition forms a film, the film exhibits a water uptake of less than or equal to 10%. The present disclosure also relates to a process comprising applying such a composition to the nails to give a film which can be glossy, can have good holding power, and can be water-resistant on nails.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a nail varnish composition comprising, in a cosmetically acceptable medium comprising at least one organic solvent, at least one block polymer, the composition being capable of forming a film with a tangent delta (tg&dgr;) dampening power of greater than or equal to 0.4 at a temperature of 30° C. and a frequency of 20 Hz. A further subject of the invention is a method for producing a glossy film comprising applying to nails such a composition, wherein a glossy film is produced and which shows good staying power and/or wear resistance.

Abstract: A nail varnish or nailcare composition containing an aqueous dispersion of particles of acrylic polymer having a glass transition temperature (Tg) greater than or equal to 45° C. and a minimum film-forming temperature (MFT) such that Tg−MFT≦20° C., a first organic solvent having a boiling point measured at ambient pressure of greater than or equal to 225° C. and a second organic solvent having a boiling point measured at ambient pressure ranging from 70° C. to 180° C. A method of making up and/or caring for the nails which includes applying the composition to the nails. The nail composition is adherent to the nail, is bright and is easily removed with conventional removers.
