  • Patent number: 7280988
Abstract: A monitoring system including a baseline model that automatically captures and models normal system behavior, a correlation model that employs multivariate autoregression analysis to detect abnormal system behavior, and an alarm service that weights and scores a variety of alerts to determine an alarm status and implement appropriate response actions. The baseline model decomposes the input variables into a number of components representing relatively predictable behaviors so that the erratic component e(t) may be isolated for further processing. These components include a global trend component, a cyclical component, and a seasonal component. Modeling and continually updating these components separately permits a more accurate identification of the erratic component of the input variable, which typically reflects abnormal patterns when they occur.

  • Patent number: 7099799
Abstract: The present invention may be embodied as expected event scheduler and processor in an application performance monitoring (APM) services. The expected event scheduler and processor allows the APM system to take scheduled events into account when performing the performance forecasting for the host system. The learned parameters may be based on measured input values including internal measurements, such as data from monitoring agents located within the host computer system, as well as external measurements relating to factors such as computer backup runs, monthly payroll runs, quarterly financial reporting runs, weekends, holidays, weather data, traffic data, advertisements run by the operator of the system or others, promotional events, product releases, news announcements, elections and other natural and demographic factors.

  • Patent number: 7030968
Abstract: This device for the three-dimensional recording of a scene (4) comprises a laser emitter (20), elements for scanning along two rotation axes (16, 44) in order to scan the scene using a laser beam emitted by the laser emitter (20), a photosensitive receiver (46) for receiving an image of a spot (52) created by the laser beam on the scene (4), element (38, 50) for focussing the laser beam backscattered by the scene (4) towards the photosensitive receiver (46), first measuring element for measuring the orientation of the beam leaving the scanning element and second measuring element for measuring the distance between the device and the spot by laser telemetry.

  • Publication number: 20030012970
Abstract: A composite wood component is comprised of a wood filler core having opposed parallel flat side and end surfaces and opposed parallel top and bottom surfaces. Solid wood trim components are glued to the side and end surfaces of the filler core and oriented with its wood grain extending in a common direction. A solid high quality wood covering is adhesively secured to at least the top surface of the filler core and also has its wood grain oriented in the common direction with the trim components. The wood trim components have a thickness selected to be machined without exposing the wood filler core. The wood filler core is comprised of lower grade quality wood pieces glued together at opposed side edges to form a rectangular or a square core.

  • Patent number: 4682472
Abstract: A lockable, mechanically secure coupling is provided for heat exchanger tubes which are connected together by end plates into superimposed layers (A or B) to form hydraulic connections between the extremities of two tubes (1) using tubular elbows (3). Each tubular elbow (3) has a coupling member (5) connected to the extremities thereof by welding, brazing or glueing to form a coupling flange. The subassembly comprising an elbow with its coupling member (5) is received in a countersunk recess (10) in the external face of the end plate and is mechanically locked by pairs of straight pins (13) which extend into spaced parallel bores (12) or (15), disposed orthogonally to the axis (XX) of the tubes (1), each pin (13) being received in an external semicircular groove (9) of the coupling member (5). The invention provides a tight, mechanically sound joint for the hydraulic connections between tubular heat exchangers used in thermoelectric devices employed as heat pumps or as electrical generators.

  • Patent number: 4499329
Abstract: Thermoelectric installation of the "heat pump" type, in which the thermoelements 1 and the exchangers 2 and 3 are stacked to form columns, these assembled to form a rack. The rows of exchangers 2 and 3 demarcate two conduits for the circulation of a hot fluid and a cold fluid. These conduits are situated outside the stacking axes of the columns, so that adjacent exchangers can turn in relation to each other. The thermoelements and the exchangers are in contact by at least one cylindrical or spherical profile surface. This assembly allows proper tightening of the columns and therefore good contact between exchanger and thermoelement without destruction of the thermoelements.
