  • Patent number: 11505490
Abstract: A spinner for fiberizing mineral fibers, in particular glass fibers, by centrifugation from a molten material, includes a peripheral barrel pierced with orifices for the passage of the molten material and for obtaining fibers by drawing during the centrifugation, a wheel center connecting the peripheral barrel to an upper flange for securing the spinner in a fiberizing device, a turnup extending the peripheral barrel in the bottom part of the spinner and making an angle ? herewith, wherein the angle ? is strictly less than 90°.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 6, 2018
Date of Patent: November 22, 2022
    Assignee: SAINT-GOBAIN ISOVER

  • Patent number: 10279511
Abstract: A method for baking a continuous mat of mineral or plant fibers successively includes application of an aqueous solution, containing a binder diluted in the solution, onto mineral or plant fibers, shaping of the fibers to form a continuous mat on a conveyor in motion, and heating the mat in movement through an oven by a hot air flow at a temperature higher than the curing temperature of the binder. Furthermore, at least partial drying of the mat is carried out before entry into the oven. The at least partial drying includes irradiation of the mat in movement with radiofrequency electromagnetic waves whose frequency lies between 3 MHz and 300 GHz.

  • Publication number: 20110036125
Abstract: Flow block (1), intended for a fiberizing installation and for receiving molten material, comprising a single cavity (10) which has a flow channel (11) bounded by a wall (11a). The inlet orifice (12) has a shape which is asymmetrical with respect to the mid-plane (Y) of the block extending along the shortest extension and has an upstream part on the glass inflow side which is wider than its opposite downstream part with respect to the mid-plane. Furthermore, the slope of the wall (11a) on the upstream side is advantageously steeper than the slope of the downstream side. The invention also relates to the bushing block, which is very squat compared with the flow block.

  • Publication number: 20100101196
Abstract: The invention relates to a structure for filtering particle-laden gases, of the honeycomb type and comprising an assembly of longitudinal adjacent channels of mutually parallel axes, separated by porous walls, said structure being characterized in that at least one, and preferably all, of the walls joining two vertices of a channel and separating the latter from a contiguous channel has, in cross section and with respect to the center of said channel, at least one concavity and at least one convexity.
