  • Patent number: 10946855
Abstract: Described herein is a method for reducing noise in a driveline of a motor vehicle, the method including detecting a condition initiating a noise event of the driveline by using one or more sensors on board the vehicle; and controlling, as a function of the detected condition and of a signal of said one or more sensors, an actuation of one or more actuators that govern corresponding devices that can be connected to the driveline and configured for generating a torsional pre-load condition in the driveline itself.

  • Patent number: 8781695
Abstract: A method and apparatus to control the pickup on an uphill slope of an automotive vehicle provided with an automatic or robotized gearbox provide the definition of a control strategy of the gear box operation, also according to the gradient of the uphill slope, which is preferably calculated based on a longitudinal acceleration value of the automotive vehicle, and based on the altitude at which the automotive vehicle can be found, which is preferably calculated based on a detected atmospheric pressure value. In this way, it is also possible to consider the reduction in the engine torque due to the reduction in the air density with altitude.

  • Patent number: 6847878
Abstract: A method for the performance of the gear disengagement in a servo-controlled manual gear change, according to which an oscillation is generated with respect to the angular speed of a primary shaft of the gear change by abruptly opening the relative clutch and the disengagement of the gear is performed around the maximum amplitude of an oscillation half-wave, when this oscillation has caused the angular speed of the primary shaft to be relatively close to the angular speed that the primary shaft has to assume to carry out the engagement of the subsequent gear.

  • Patent number: 6658340
Abstract: A method of updating the transmissibility function of a clutch during the final stage of a gear change, in which the clutch is closed to cause the angular speed of the drive shaft to equal the angular speed of the primary shaft of the gear change, the engine is set to supply a constant torque, the clutch is disposed in a predetermined position in order to transmit a constant torque greater than the torque supplied by the engine and the actual value of the torque transmitted by the clutch is calculated by subtracting the product of the moment of inertia of the engine and the angular acceleration of the drive shaft from the torque generated by the engine, the actual value of the torque transmitted by the clutch then being used to update the transmissibility function of the clutch.

  • Patent number: 5908460
Abstract: Control device for a transmission unit comprising a clutch and a gear shift which are coupled respectively to a first and a second actuator unit in order to operate the actuation of the clutch and the selection and engagement/disengagement of the gears. The device comprises a transmission control circuit in which a main microprocessor formulates control signals for the first and second actuator unit and an auxiliary microprocessor determines a state of malfunctioning of the main microprocessor in order to transfer the control of the transmission unit to the auxiliary microprocessor in the event of a fault.
