  • Patent number: 10530736
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes receiving on a private network at a Network Address Translation (NAT) gateway, a Generic Routing Encapsulation (GRE) packet comprising a client address and a GRE node private Internet Protocol (IP) address, mapping the client address to the GRE node private IP address at the NAT gateway, storing the mapping at the NAT gateway, replacing the GRE node private IP address in the GRE packet with a public IP address of the NAT gateway, and transmitting the GRE packet from the NAT gateway on a public network. Wherein the mapping is used in forwarding packets received on the public network at the NAT gateway to a client on the private network. An apparatus and logic are also disclosed herein.

  • Patent number: 7624431
Abstract: The present invention provides a technique for securely implementing port-based authentication on a shared media port in an intermediate node, such as a router. To that end, the invention provides enhanced port-based network access control that includes client-based control at the shared media port. Unlike previous implementations, the port does not permit multiple client nodes to access a trusted subnetwork as soon as a user at any one of those nodes is authenticated by the subnetwork. Instead, port-based authentication is performed for every client node that attempts to access the trusted subnetwork through the shared media port. As such, access to the trusted subnetwork is not compromised by unauthenticated client nodes that “piggy-back” over the shared media port after a user at another client node has been authenticated by the trusted subnetwork.

  • Patent number: 7096629
Abstract: An installation system designed specifically for thin reinforced natural stone panels used as exterior cladding, re-cladding, or over-cladding of buildings is comprised of a series of extruded aluminum shapes which, when properly applied to the back side of the thin reinforced stone panels, provide structural support for the thin panels and facilitate their installation and will also provide the means for the panels to be pre-assembled in order to obtain desired shapes or profiles and to be easily installed on the building. The series, or family, of extruded aluminum shapes are designed to mate or interlock to perform a variety of tasks such as perimeter frames, structural stiffeners, corner angle supports, interlocking sleeves, runner clips which facilitate attachment to various substrates of a building such as steel stud framing, aluminum curtain wall frames, brick or concrete walls or plywood sheathing.

  • Patent number: 6168758
Abstract: An assay device for determining the presence of specific analytes in a liquid sample comprises a container for collecting the sample liquid and a removable cap for sealing the container. The cap includes one or more test strips, such as chromatography strips, supported thereon for visually displaying the results of the assay. A reservoir attached to the underside of the cap, collects, through a passageway, a predetermined volume of liquid from the container when it is inverted thereby submerging the reservoir in the sample liquid. The liquid collected in the reservoir is transferred to the chromatography strips by a wicking system. A valve member located in the reservoir automatically swells upon absorbing a portion of the liquid in the reservoir. Such swelling causes the valve member to close the passageway to form a hermetic seal between the liquid contained within the container and the outside thereby preventing such liquid from becoming contaminated and any leakage of the contained liquid.
